Historia
Syndicate operative Juliet Arroway and her best friend, Mariam, a progressive Saudi princess, are tasked with hunting down terrorists and putting an end to the global energy war, the same mission that cost Juliet’s father his life. But when multiple terrorist attacks result in devastating losses, including the death of Juliet’s longtime boyfriend, and the Syndicate begins to suspect that Mariam’s family is somehow involved, Juliet must rise above her heartbreak to discover the truth.

Knowledgeable author, predictable ending
Revisado: 06-25-23
The book is made better because the author understands the sources and methods, the tools and languages of the trade. This is a great start to her writing career which follows the template of most drama novel. Predictability isn’t bad necessarily, it helps keep the nerve down as you read this action-filled book. My only feedback is the description of the love for one another between Graham and Juliet became a bit repetitive, and does not need to be reinforced every time his name is brought up.

Historia
The Ministry for the Future is a masterpiece of the imagination, using fictional eyewitness accounts to tell the story of how climate change will affect us all. Its setting is not a desolate, post-apocalyptic world, but a future that is almost upon us - and in which we might just overcome the extraordinary challenges we face.

Too slow
Revisado: 12-28-22
I tried to finish this book for over a month and I just couldn’t. Will be asking for a refund and returning it. The story is so slow and the set changes too frequently to get to know the characters so I have no idea who the protagonist is.

Historia
From Schrodinger's cat to Heisenberg's uncertainty principle, this book untangles the weirdness of the quantum world. Quantum mechanics underpins modern science and provides us with a blueprint for reality itself. And yet it has been said that if you're not shocked by it, you don't understand it. But is quantum physics really so unknowable? Is reality really so strange? And just how can cats be half alive and half dead at the same time?

Not for beginners
Revisado: 08-29-16
I was going to give it one star but that would not have been fair to the author or to the publisher. The reason I was going to give a low score was because the book was way over my head and again that's not the author's fault, but also the accent by the reader made it harder to understand and comprehend because it was distracting.

Historia
The greatest threat to privacy today is not the NSA, but good-old American companies. Internet giants, leading retailers, and other firms are voraciously gathering data with little oversight from anyone. In Las Vegas, no company knows the value of data better than Caesars Entertainment. Many thousands of enthusiastic clients pour through the ever-open doors of their casinos. The secret to the company’s success lies in their one unrivaled asset: they know their clients intimately by tracking the activities of the overwhelming majority of gamblers.

If you are data driven this is the book for you
Revisado: 11-13-15
If you are data driven this is the book for you. I am a 6 sigma black belt and although this book doesn't get into anything like that I really enjoyed how other companies were collecting personal data and using them. It is great for marketers in small companies whom are struggling to penetrate into untapped consumers.

Historia
Fear of Physics is a lively, irreverent, and informative look at everything from the physics of boiling water to cutting-edge research at the observable limits of the universe. Rich with anecdotes and accessible examples, it nimbly ranges over the tools and thought behind the world of modern physics, taking the mystery out of what is essentially a very human intellectual endeavor.

Great book, rushed reading
Revisado: 03-10-15
The content of the book was excellent, but it was a bit overshadowed by the rush of reading. I think the reader which also the author (which is always very cool) wanted to show excitements through his methods of reading but it felt more hurried than anything.
