to start, the narrator is pretty good, I like his voice. the story however is absolutely terrible. the main character is already magic at the beginning of the story , borderline god-like, and there is no real development for him from there. the descriptions of the magic system are almost an insult to the reader, overdone to long past burning this cubesteak of a book.

do you like tales of intrigue, beautiful landscapes, and colorful characters? then avoid this POS like the plague. .
I would personally tar, feather, and decapitate the author of this book for the poor job they did in writing thing awful abomination of what I would refuse to call literature, and more would properly describe as a series of pages that happen to be next to one another.

the insight of the great german philologist nietzsche made me rethink some of the basic fundamentals of my reality. I can't give words to the value of this book.
on the side of the recording the narrator jonathan waters gives a life to translation that makes you feel as though the author is sitting with you reading from his life's work in the body of a young man.
