Historia
Thirty years in New York City's public schools led John Gatto to the sad conclusion that compulsory schooling does little but teach young people to follow orders like cogs in an industrial machine. With over 100,000 copies in print since its original publication in 2002, this book is collection of essays and speeches and includes a describes the wide-spread impact of the book and Gatto's "guerrilla teaching". John Gatto was a teacher in New York City's public schools for over 30 years and was a New York State Teacher of the Year.

Historia
There is nothing more essential to our health and well-being than breathing. Yet, as a species, humans have lost the ability to breathe correctly, with grave consequences. Journalist James Nestor travels the world to figure out what went wrong and how to fix it. The answers aren’t found in pulmonology labs, as we might expect, but in the muddy digs of ancient burial sites, secret Soviet facilities, New Jersey choir schools, and the smoggy streets of São Paulo. Nestor tracks down men and women exploring the hidden science behind ancient breathing practices.

We live in a time where breathing has become more and more dangerous. From bad eating, unhealthy breathing to global pandemic - it more important than ever to use our bodies to help combat disease.
James Nestor gathers and combines ancient historical knowledge with the latest breathing science and technology to create a roadmap to better health and happiness without relying on big government or big Pharma for help. .
I highly recommend this audio book.

Historia
The Founding Fathers tried to protect us from the threat they knew, the tyranny that overcame ancient democracy. Today, our political order faces new threats, not unlike the totalitarianism of the twentieth century. We are no wiser than the Europeans who saw democracy yield to fascism, Nazism, or communism. Our one advantage is that we might learn from their experience.

The author is blinded by his politics.
Revisado: 10-14-21
The author’s assumption that tyranny is only evolving and/or occurring only ‘from or on the right’ or that ‘Trump’s people are the only ones to watch’, proves that his political ideology constrains his ability to accurately access the present.
What I haven’t figured out yet is if he is simply propaganda artist, if he’s an agent of our deep state bureaucracy or just a short sited fool who is blinded by reality.
Based on the authors consistent appearance on the Communist News Network I have an inkling that he knows but is unable to report on our current reality. The fact is that our current regime is most tyrannical bureaucracy in our countries short history.
With the above said I do appreciate his collection of historical tyranny but hope that he is able to find the intellectual integrity needed to accurately attack our current authoritarian Marxist/socialist regime.
I gave a 3-star review ‘overall’ because he points out how easy the left is able to assert that they ‘saved us from Trump’ and/or that they can somehow solve the problems that they themselves have created and continue to propagandize.
