Historia
The Rule of St. Benedict has governed monastic communities for centuries, but it is far more than a standard religious text. The Rule is, above all, a handbook for living a deliberate life - no matter your religious background or beliefs. It teaches the importance of contemplation and silence, of solitude, and the power of community and unity.

Pregnancy is such a hot topic I can understand some of the 1 star reviews. If you are looking to this book to be the end all be all you will be disappointed. I found this book to be so helpful and generally unbiased but there are a lot of things my wife and I will do differently for our new baby.
I personally enjoy when the authors read their own books cause you get a better idea of what they are trying to convey regarding their ideas.
Thank you Emily for your wisdom!

Historia
Frédéric Chopin is the pianist-composer par excellence. Regarded as one of the most mesmerizing performers of his day, he lives on in his music – his waltzes, mazurkas, études, preludes, nocturnes, three piano sonatas, two piano concertos, and much more. Here, his life, from his birth in Poland, his famous affair with the French writer George Sand, to his death at the age of 39 in Paris, is told with his music featuring prominently. We think of Chopin as a "frail, sheltered genius" but this forthright portrait demonstrates he was far more boisterous than that.

Very good. I’m left wanting more
Revisado: 10-31-17
Great review of Chopin’s mazurkas, polonaises, and a little on his waltz’s. I would have really liked to learn more about his Nocturnes and more on his Waltz’s since they are some of his most known work and accomplishments. Also, Chopin was always very driven by the female voice in operas. This was mentioned only once. Overall- I loved it. It takes an angle on Chopin that you wouldn’t otherwise have heard and the music is played very well throughout the audiobook.

Very funny and unapologetic. Milo seems to really understand the issues that at surface level might seem harmless- but when you dig deeper, you find that there is a real war on free speech. Download this book and listen. Buy the hardback for a friend. Thank you Milo!

Such a great message. Such an odd narrator style. He really put the "pain" in his last name. It was like listening to a bad actor read his lines for the first time- without any personality or flavor. I would highly recommend the text version cause the content is well thought out, straight to the point, and very insightful.

Kafka is one of 161 inspired-and inspiring-minds, among them, novelists, poets, playwrights, painters, philosophers, scientists, and mathematicians, who describe how they subtly maneuver the many (self-inflicted) obstacles and (self-imposed) daily rituals to get done the work they love to do, whether by waking early or staying up late; whether by self-medicating with doughnuts or bathing, drinking vast quantities of coffee, or taking long daily walks.

Disappointed in depth of stories
Revisado: 03-06-17
I thought this was going to be a more exhaustive look into the habits of successful people throughout history. In fact, each account is very brief. Also if you're not a writer, composer, or philosopher that works from home, you're not in this book. The author is obviously very fond of other authors and novelists but I found it hard to relate to. Some of the stories were cheeky and fun but overall lacked depth.

Historia
Using his legendary ability to get to the root of human potential, Napoleon Hill digs deep to reveal how fear, procrastination, anger, and jealousy prevent us from realizing our personal goals. This long-suppressed parable, once considered too controversial to publish, was written by Hill in 1938 following the publication of his classic bestseller, Think and Grow Rich. Annotated and edited for a contemporary audience by Rich Dad, Poor Dad and Three Feet from Gold coauthor Sharon Lechter, this book is profound, powerful, resonant, and rich with insight.

Good message by an author that is totally full of himself.
Revisado: 12-21-16
No way in hell Hill actually interviewed the devil. The text infers salvation by way of "positive thinking." If you can get through how weird the scenario and story is, the message is sound. The preface and final thoughts refer to Hill as prophetic. If there is anything prophetic, it's because it is very vague. I'm a huge fan of Hill's earlier work but this text was more shallow and mildly disturbing. Ironically I think his ego got in the way.
