Beautiful Story
Revisado: 10-06-24
I really enjoyed this story. As a black female that currently serves, its a reminder of how far we have come in the military and how much I owe to those who have paved the way for all of us. I really enjoyed everything about this book.

Great Story, Horrible Narration
Revisado: 06-27-24
The story is really good but the narrator tried too hard with the voice imitations of the different characters, making them sound dumb, borish or otherwise not matching the words being read, describing how the character should sound. I like the story and will push through this book, but since the narrator is the same in the rest of the series, I wont be getting the others. Very disappointing.

A lot of erotica parts
Revisado: 12-04-23
I don't mind erotica. It's nice when accompanied by a good story. But this book was chapter after chapter of erotica. I kept waiting for the actual story to continue and even had to fast forward past chapters in hopes of learning more about the main characters relationship turmoil and her strength to overcome them. Its a good book of you love sex scenes a lot. I was looking for a story with the sex scenes as a compliment to it. Just not for me.

Great Story
Revisado: 10-13-22
Great story with excellent narration. I loved the Siberian female heroine, so tough and resilient. I truly enjoyed getting to know her character. I tried to make this book last and limit my daily listen but I got hooked and was playing it every chance I got. Great job to the author and narrator.

The Larkin family isn't just lucky - they persevere. At least that's what Violet and her younger brother, Sam, were always told. When the Lyric sank off the coast of Maine, their great-great-great grandmother didn't drown like the rest of the passengers. No, Fidelia swam to shore, fell in love, and founded Lyric, Maine. One beautiful summer day, brilliant, sensitive Sam attempts to take his own life. Shipped back to Lyric while Sam is in treatment and desperate to make amends, Violet embarks on a wildly ambitious mission: locate the Lyric.

A Good adolescent coming of age story
Revisado: 08-22-22
This is a good story focusing on a young lady, her family and friends going through some stuff. I was hoping there would be more focus on the ship reck and that part of the story but it was taking too long to get there so I couldn't finish it. I just don't think it's for my age demographic ( 35 plus) but the story was so far good and well told and I feel would be great for younger people.

Wonderful Story and Narrator
Revisado: 04-07-22
This Story was beautifully written, the flow of the events took me right along on the beautiful Mermaids adventure. The narrator did a excellent job with the story telling, putting emotions into place where it belonged, making me empathize with the Characters. I couldn't stop listening, beautiful story.

Great story
Revisado: 12-09-21
The narrators were wonderful. I really enjoyed this story. I can't imagine living in a world where you are notified the day of, that your life would end within the next 24hrs. It seemed as if people thought this was an advancement in society and actually expressed pity for the times before this was possible. I enjoyed everything about this story and the narrators really delivered.

Good narrator. Story is half and half
Revisado: 10-05-21
The part of the story taking placating the past is great. Very beautiful telling of a Chinese families sacrifice and fight for survival. But the present day parts is boring. I'm currently trying to listen to suffering through the present day parts to get to the parts taking place in the past. I know they will tie together eventually but it's a long road. I wish the whole story took place in the past.

Historia
Korede is bitter. How could she not be? Her sister, Ayoola, is many things: the favorite child, the beautiful one, possibly sociopathic. And now Ayoola’s third boyfriend in a row is dead. Korede’s practicality is the sisters’ saving grace. She knows the best solutions for cleaning blood, the trunk of her car is big enough for a body, and she keeps Ayoola from posting pictures of her dinner to Instagram when she should be mourning her “missing” boyfriend. Not that she gets any credit. Korede has long been in love with a kind, handsome doctor at the hospital where she works.

Unfinished
Revisado: 10-05-21
I really like this story. I absolutely loved the narrator's accent but there was a major event that I feel should have been addressed. A character was built and you find out how they end up but it's never revealed how exactly they end up there. Knowing it would not have hurt the story at all and I was excited to hear the big reveal. I think it was a key to understanding some parts of the plot. Everything else was good.

Great Story. One of the Narrator's was annoying
Revisado: 09-22-21
I really enjoyed this book. It was a great story going between three different times and tying it all together. The narrator for Josephine was AMAZING. She did an excellent job capturing the personality of the charters she read for and was the only reason I was able to keep listening. While I definitely appreciate having two narrators to help keep things straight the second narrator was very annoying, her intonations didn't really match the characters being presented by author. Her reading breathy, and too over dramatic for what was being read.
