Historia
It was one of the most searing images of the twentieth century: two young boys, two princes, walking behind their mother's coffin as the world watched in sorrow - and horror. As Diana, Princess of Wales, was laid to rest, billions wondered what the princes must be thinking and feeling - and how their lives would play out from that point on. For Harry, this is that story at last.

Very insightful to the world of spin doctors
Revisado: 08-10-24
Harry may come across as spoilt but he is a product of his environment. He has the right to reply and explain why he feels the way he does, after being hounded by the press his entire life and feeling threaten and left out in the cold by the palace to fend for himself and his family. I am glad he chose freedom and broke away from his guilded cage (something is great- aunt Margret couldn’t do). There is a little bit of unnecessary over sharing but I think it may have been part of the process that Harry needed to get his truth out. Despite hearing poor reviews about the book I thought it was very well written and I find myself to be proud of Harry. He really has come along way and chose love and family and truth and stood firm against the institution he was born in to. Something his mother tried to do - but she was an outsider. I must say that if this is how they treat one of their own - why would one ever wants to be Royal?

Historia
For the first time ever Roland Huntford presents each man's account of the race to the South Pole in their own words. In 1910, Robert Falcon Scott and Roald Amundsen set sail for Antarctica, each from his own starting point, and the epic race for the South Pole was on. 2010 marks the centenary of the last great race of terrestrial discovery. For the first time Scott's unedited diary entries run alongside those of Amundsen and Bjaaland, never before translated into English.

Day by day comparison shows a clear victor
Revisado: 01-05-20
Very interesting to see how the two different expeditions approached navigating the harsh reality of the icy desert that is the polar Antarctic. Team work is essential and so is planning and skill and the side by side diary comparison clearly exposes this. They both accomplished great things but one at great cost - which begs the question of why. Even after over a hundred years later.

I love how each Bosch book is linked - you get know a little more of his character with each new case but the story is fresh and new, completely different from any other but just as gripping. Could not stop reading. Needed to know what each new twist revealed. Needed to know more about Bosch and why he is the way he is. It was captivating. Highly recommend this book and the whole series!
