Historia
When retired FBI Agent Patrick Henderson calls in an 'X-Ray Sierra India' incident, the operator doesn't understand. He tells them to pass it up the chain till someone does. That person is FBI Special Agent Kimberley Reynolds. Leaving Quantico for snowbound Northern Wisconsin, she finds that a tornado has flattened half the town—and there's no sign of Henderson. Things soon go from weird to worse, as neighbors report unsettling sightings, key evidence goes missing, and the snow keeps rising—cutting off the town, with no way in or out . . .

never again with this narrator
Revisado: 08-21-23
I've listened to all of the Rivers of London series. The other two narrators are great. This narrator is...just awful. She makes the character sound whiny and twangy. Emotionally, the narration is completely flat - the same affect at all times....no joy, fear, or any other emotional changes. Maybe Ben selected her because he's unfamiliar with American accents...I don't know. But please give us someone different next time. (And for the love of God, please tell the narrator to stop referring to her heavy jacket as a "Parker")

My name is Brandon Ferryman. I went out one night to get a burrito. Who knew that such a simple thing would change my life, or end it? I woke up on the side of the road with some pumpkin-headed monster saying he was the god of death, fate, and justice. I was chosen to run a very special establishment. A place that lay between worlds. A place called the Coffin Hotel.

couldn't finish it
Revisado: 02-10-23
I listen to a lot of fantasy, mystery and sci fi. The only thing I can't handle is graphic sex in an audiobook. I mean graphic, like the kind that gets a rating of NC - 17 in fan fic, or a printed book.
This book has graphic sex scenes using the crudest of anatomical terms and lots of descriptions of fluids and sounds. After I hit the second one, I just stopped listening.
Wish this book would have been posted with a warning - I would never have bought it. A shame, since it seemed to have a decent plot .

yes this is the right narrator!
Revisado: 08-25-22
I've read ALL of this series - but this is my first listen. yes, James Marsters sounds "like a person talking" vs "a narrator"..but he's perfect for this book. it's like Harry is speaking directly to you.

Very violent callous scenes unlike his others
Revisado: 10-19-20
I had to stop at the 4 hour mark. Gruesome violence and torture descriptions with no empathy or really plot justification for the amount of gore and sadism described. I have listened to all of the previous books...this one is nothing like those. Characters are one dimensional and stereotypes...but lots of detail on lengthy torture scenes and shattered dead bodies. A real disappointment. Skip this one. Thaddeus and friends act like robots with no emotions and make ridiculous far fetched plot decisions. You will like the whole series less after listening to this. It's that disturbing. That ugly. And that poorly plotted

could not listen to -get rid of sound effects
Revisado: 08-10-20
This is the first audio book I could not finish due to production/technical reasons. I have the narration slowed down to 70 percent speed and the narrator is still impossible to follow with his tempo of speech and his accent. The "crowd noise" or whatever it is in the background makes the narration even harder to follow. This might have a great plot - but the way it's being read sounds like a National Enquired reporter shouting a story in a thick Cockney accent holding their microphone on a street corner in a windstorm

narration ruins this book
Revisado: 09-08-19
I started with the prequel audiobook No God is Safe and loved it. Was excited to discover a new series of such quality. sadly this book has a different narrator with a voice that is not only annoying and pretentious but somehow makes everything sound like he's reading the phone book in a bored tone. I am really struggling to finish this book with this narration. will not purchase any future with this narrator. a disappointment

weak imitation of St Mary's series - plot drags
Revisado: 03-15-19
Story drags and is hard to follow. Plot is a weak imitation of Taylors St Mary's series. Time traveling historians at an English university with departments for costumes and props and a crotchety program director...but lacks the crisp writing and character depth of the original series. Nothing original here and the writing drags so much that the plot is difficult to follow. if you get it for free or cheap and just want to kill some time it would be OK I guess

Revisado: 12-25-18
main character is whiny and boring. no tangible plot just a lot of "thinking out loud" and jumping back and forth in time. Nothing like any of his other books. a real drag to listen to - I tried for 5 hours and just gave up as it never got interesting at all. I do not recommend

Revisado: 10-21-18
This is advertised as being based on a show I have never heard of. Maybe that's why I found it boring . It was advertised as comedic - but I didn't find any of it funny. The narrators are pretty good. I wish I had not wasted even the few dollars this cost...i kept listening because I like Dr Who
Jodi Taylor and other Sci fi and fantasy series... but this audiobook never got any more entertaining or interesting.
