Historia
On July 25, 2000, a Concorde, the world's fastest passenger plane, was taking off from Charles de Gaulle Airport in Paris when it suddenly burst into flames. An airliner capable of flying at more than twice the speed of sound, the Concorde had completed 25 years of successful flights, whisking wealthy passengers - from diplomats to rock stars to corporate titans - between continents on brief and glamorous flights. Yet on this fateful day, the chartered Concorde jet, en route to America, crashed and killed all 109 passengers and crew onboard and four people on the ground.

Lots of research
Revisado: 09-08-23
Great book with lots of research and simple technology explanations. My only real complaint is that the last chapter had nothing to do with the rest of the book.

Historia
Laurence Gonzales turns his talent for gripping narrative, knowledge of the way our minds and bodies work, and bottomless curiosity about the world to the topic of how we can best use the lessons of our evolutionary history to overcome the hazards of everyday life. He finds that natural laws profoundly affect our actions, and he reveals the hidden causes and costs of our behavior, whether as individuals or as a species whose decisions may be leading to darker times.

Don't be fooled.

I have read and enjoyed the other books by Gonzales, and I was very much looking forward to this one. He does make some very good points that I felt he should spend more time exploring. However, once he started to veer off into the realm of global warming and climate change; then he lost me. If I had wanted a book about the effects that humans are having on global warming, then I would have purchased one. Instead, I get duped in purchasing a book that I thought would be about the psychology of survival but it turned into the author lecturing me about global warming. Very Disappointing.

Historia
A century ago very few people dreamed of space travel. Today it is the most daring and technologically sophisticated quest ever undertaken, being driven not just by government agencies such as NASA and ESA, but also by visionaries such as Richard Branson (Virgin Galactic), Elon Musk (SpaceX) and Jeff Bezos (Blue Origin). To mark the 50th anniversary of the 1969 moon landing, this major drama-documentary series charts the definitive story of the past, present and future of humankind’s exploration of space. The Space Race is narrated by Kate Mulgrew and features a full cast.

Ugh!!!!

Sounds like I was listening to a PBS after-school special. There was way too much fluff and not enough information. :(
