Historia
It's a familiar tale: A kind and beautiful young girl, reeling from loss. A doting father, frantic to bring a mother's love back into his daughter's life. And the selfish, cruel woman who insinuates herself into that family - a woman so unfeeling, so cold hearted, that when her new husband dies, she makes the girl a servant in her own home.

HUGE SPOILERS
So let me see if I got this straight. This poor woman was tricked into marriage by a gold digger who then took all her money and tormented her and her daughters. This all happened with the help of the weird sisters. She then has the choice of killing her abuser or continuing to suffer. Lady Tremaine then gets rid of Cinderella's father and gets her money back. She then becomes the eeeeevil one making poor Cinderella take her place as servant of the house.
At this point the fairy godmother steps in, saves Cinderella, and TRAPS this woman and her daughters in the house. Then everyone forgets about these 3 women for years and continue with their lives. Years later, the fairies feel bad about Drusilla and Anastasia and go back to save them. In the meantime, Lady Tremaine has gone crazy from the curses, abuse, torture, and everything else. So, the fairies swoop in and rescue the young ladies. And what is the magical solution the fairies have for Lady Tremaine? They turn her into stone. Really? That is your solution for someone who has gone crazy after such a wretched life?

Historia
Before RuPaul's Drag Race became a worldwide phenomenon, Drag was mostly an underground art form, performed by the daring and the quick-witted, with maximum energy and a minimal budget. This is the story of one of the galaxy's greatest queens, Alaska Thunderf--k 5000, as she transforms from wearing dresses made of trash bags because she has to, to wearing dresses made of trash bags because she wants to.

Interesting

listening to this audiobook is comprable to listening to a interview for a podcast except that the person you want to listen to doesn't get interrupted with questions. I know a lot of this from following the news but it is really cool to hear it from the Star herself and in her own words and voice. if you are an Alaska fan this makes for a fun read. my main complaint is that it lasted me less than a day 😂

Historia
The boys of Huaxia dream of pairing up with girls to pilot Chrysalises, giant transforming robots that can battle the mecha aliens that lurk beyond the Great Wall. It doesn't matter that the girls often die from the mental strain. When 18-year-old Zetian offers herself up as a concubine-pilot, it's to assassinate the ace male pilot responsible for her sister's death. But she gets her vengeance in a way nobody expected—she kills him through the psychic link between pilots and emerges from the cockpit unscathed.

I loved it
Revisado: 10-28-21
I had seen this book recommended on book tok and decided to give it a go. I regret nothing. if anything it was even better than I thought it would be and I had high expectations. A strong female lead, an interesting relationship without the YA drama, and huge robots! my only complaint is that it's over and now I have to wait and see if a sequel comes out and I hate waiting :-(

Are you into toxic relationships? Then this is the book for you! It just wasn't for me. I hate brainless relationships drama. Ugh.

Farewell
Revisado: 01-30-18
As always when finishing a series one feels sad and lost when thinking where to go from here. This last book was as good as the preceding 3 and fits right in. In truth reading these one can enjoy the continuity of not only the tone and stories but the narrator as well (something to always be grateful for).

Heart breaking but encouraging
Revisado: 01-23-18
Spoiler Free I really loved this book. I think it really gives you an idea of what living that life is like. The narrator is wonderful and her accent gives the narration a beautiful touch. Obviously the book is full of triggering events so I would not recommend this to the fait of heart. However, I think it's a good read to become more aware of the problem slavery is in our world.
