First off, you don't have to be a witch to get a lot out of Erica Feldman's Haus Magick. This little magical book provides a really excellent overview of the land of woo, with concise and practical advice on how to set an intention with your living space and transform it into the space you want to live in. Feldman draws on a cast of experts for each discipline she covers, like Grace Harrington Murdock to cover the astrological elements. This gives the book some nice variety in its voice and provides really good overviews of key tools you can draw on the craft your space.

One of the things I love about this book is that it packs a lot of solid info into a condensed format. Feldman keeps her own editorializing to a minimum, with a really good sense of sharing her own experiences in the right spots, with enough depth to really connect, but not so much to drag the book along.

Amanda Dolan does a really great job with the narration, connecting really well with the material and keeping the book rolling along at an excellent pace. The book comes with a 32 page PDF with everything from magical cleaning supply recipes, to breakdowns of crystal energy, to old world family meal recipes.

You don't have to be deep into "woo" to get a lot out of this book. It's a fresh way of looking at setting an intention, creating space, and have the home around you reflect the energy that you want to be surrounded with. The fact that it's presented so well and so concisely makes this the kind of book that you'll pull out and re-reference over and over.

Great cast, poorly directed in a really amateur play. Story isn't very compelling. Jo Beth Williams is horrible in the lead role and hams it up so badly. Hard to believe this play ever found its way to the stage.

I really respect the intent by Shane Stott to capture the world of floating into an easy to read/listen, engaging, book. The problem with The Float Tank Cure is that it's too much of a first draft. While there are some great ideas presented in the book, the book is a little scattered in the way it tells its story and some of the ideas presented don't get the depth of exploration needed.

At times this book is more about dealing with anxiety than floating, which is ok. Shane's story is an interesting one and he gives some good tips on how to deal with anxiety in addition to floating.

While there are a few good nuggets here, there just isn't much here you can't already hear in a much more compelling and engaging way than in Shane's podcast interviews. Shane is much more animated in those podcasts and the conversations just flow better than this book.

I'd love to see Shane dive in (excuse the pun) and do a second edition of this book with more interviews with float professionals (he really only touches on two), more depth on what you can do in a tank, some tips for preparing before you get into the tank, and more coverage on what happened to bring floating closer to the mainstream (outside of Joe Rogan's Podcast).

At just over 2 hours, this is a pretty short book. Good for folks really interested in learning more about floating, but not as much depth for experienced floaters.
