Historia
As a panicked world goes into lockdown, Lucy Barton is uprooted from her life in Manhattan and bundled away to a small town in Maine by her ex-husband and on-again, off-again friend, William. For the next several months, it’s just Lucy, William, and their complex past together in a little house nestled against the moody, swirling sea. Rich with empathy and emotion, Lucy by the Sea vividly captures the fear and struggles that come with isolation, as well as the hope, peace, and possibilities that those long, quiet days can inspire.

This one is….different
Revisado: 07-01-24
Have read and loved each book by Elizabeth Strout. Lucy by the Sea was so different from the others and disappointingly so. Why. Why did she have to get political? I kept reading to savor the story but a bias political view was thrown in repeatedly and so I just gave up on it w/o ending the book. If I wanted to read about politics I would have chosen that genre. Well at least we will always have Olive and I hope if there is a 3rd one about her, she won’t go rogue with one-sided political jargon.

Historia
The holly-jolly holidays aren’t for everyone, least of all when you look back on that one Christmas when there were two definitely haunted dolls waiting for you and your sister under the tree. You have to assume that’s where it all started. And so it was for Jenny Lawson. Now, she lives in the land of eternal Halloween, as evidenced by her interior decor and general state of darkness. (Although, if you ask her, her taxidermy zoo is less dark, more delightful. But not everyone has taste, so what are you going to do?)

Love Jenny Lawson. Just wish she would branch out and do more writings. She’s so creative, for sure she can use it for more and more and more..,…oh my gosh should I have said that? You don’t have to! (Lol) I just like her work. ☺️

Historia
David Spade is best known for his harsh "Hollywood Minute" sketches on SNL, his starring roles in movies like Tommy Boy and Joe Dirt, and his seven-year stint as Dennis Finch on the series Just Shoot Me. Now, with a wit as dry as the weather in his home state of Arizona, the "comic brat extraordinaire" delivers a memoir.

Comically Creative
Revisado: 12-12-22
Have always loved the comedic genius of David Spade. Early years were most interesting. The 1/4 of the book that Wasn’t about repetitive and frequent casual sex “adventures?” was more enjoyable and quite redeeming. Good writing really but maybe the title should have been “A Collection of Bedtime Stories and other things.”

Where’s Vincent?
Revisado: 12-10-22
I expected at least a narration by Vincent Price and he was no where to be found. A disappointment. I feel cheated. I mean Vincent Price presents is misleading.
