Decent storyline
Revisado: 04-27-25
It took a while to introduce all the characters. It would have been nice if Peter had lived or at least they knew he was protecting his own kids by doing it. Peter could have barricaded the bedroom door and the group could have come in under the cloak of darkness. Who waits until daylight? And the three were drink. Better time to hit. Could have been a little better thought out.

Historia
In a matter of days, Peter McDowell loses everything he has worked so hard for - his wealth, his property, his livelihood as a star investment banker. And then it gets worse. The stock market crash not only plunges Peter into joblessness, it causes a rift in his marriage that he cannot repair. Stripped of everything, he has only one place to retreat to: a lakeside cottage he inherited from his parents, who left most of their modest estate to Peter's twin. With no other choice, the prodigal son goes home.

Probably the best book Danielle Steele has ever written and I have always been a fan.

This audiobook kept me on the edge of my seat. So many times I’m able to predict what is going to happen but not this time. And I loved the length of it. It seemed to be longer than most.

Historia
Preston and Constance Whittier have built a happy life together, with a brood of six children raised in a beautiful historic Manhattan mansion. Now, with a nearly empty nest, it’s easier than ever for the Whittiers to maintain their tradition of a solo romantic “Wintermoon” ski trip. But with this year’s trip comes tragedy, and suddenly the Whittier’s adult children find themselves reuniting in the family home without their parents for the first time ever. The eldest four are forced to put aside their personal issues and their grief to keep the family together.

I really enjoyed seeing a large family who could get along.
Revisado: 02-07-23
I really enjoyed seeing a large family who could get along and made the best out of a bad situation. I thought there was going to be a reference to the Whittier‘s who started the cookie factory in another Daniel Steele book. Was a little disappointed that there was not a family connection. But overall I enjoyed the book and found it entertaining on my home mute.

Excellent Storyline
Revisado: 01-20-23
This book has an excellent storyline. I know there’s another book out called the Whittier’s and now I’m anxious to read that to see how it connects to the story. It’s nice to see people start a second career successfully. And it’s always great to help others along the way. Kudos to Danielle Steel.

Great content, poor quality at the end.
Revisado: 09-09-22
The storyline and content was very good. However the last chapter or so kept cutting in and out. I tried to listen to it again and it did the same thing. Please correct that for the next listener.
