Historia
Marsalis is one of a new breed...literally. Genetically engineered by the U.S. government to embody the naked aggression and primal survival skills that centuries of civilization have erased from humankind, Thirteens were intended to be the ultimate military fighting force. The project was scuttled, however, when a fearful public branded the supersoldiers dangerous mutants, dooming the Thirteens to forced exile on Earth's distant, desolate Mars colony. But Marsalis found a way to slip back.

A Good Listen
Revisado: 08-01-07
This book is much like a pre-history to market forces or his other books (awaken Furies). An intresting main character and a good story. If you like his other books, I think you will like this one as well.

Wonderful series
Revisado: 04-27-06
I really enjoyed this entire series. The last book is the darkest of the three and the most adult themed. By Books end, I was sorry to see the series end but can only sing the praise of the story.

Great Book - Breaks the Normal Ringworld mold.
Revisado: 06-16-05
Its better than most of the other ringworld books as it ties up many of the old storylines and is takes ringworld out of just a book about the ring to a book about the ringworld and how it is changing the world of know space.
Great book.
PS> I think the voice used for the Kzinti was really off key. Kzinti do not sound like ellmer Fudd.

Historia
In the 25th century, humankind has spread throughout the galaxy, monitored by the watchful eye of the U.N. While divisions in race, religion, and class still exist, advances in technology have redefined life itself. Now, assuming one can afford the expensive procedure, a person's consciousness can be stored in a cortical stack at the base of the brain and easily downloaded into a new body (or "sleeve") making death nothing more than a minor blip on a screen.

A good SF detective Story
Revisado: 05-27-05
Its a good story. Its reminds me of a SF 1930's style bullets and Whisky Detective Story set in San Fransico of the Future. The Reader of the story does a good job and gives it the gritty feeling the story needs.

From rockbound coast, from farm and logging camp came the men of the Twentieth Maine, a volunteer regiment in the Civil War. It was at Little Round Top that the Twentieth Maine, with Joshua Chamberlain in command, performed one of the miracles of the Civil War and saved the left flank of the Union battle line.

A very good book
Revisado: 07-26-04
This book is a first rate historical book of the times and lives of soldiers of the 20th Maine during the American civil war.
Both the writing and the narration keeps the book flowing through this important era of American history.

Historia
This is the incredible story of the world's greatest conqueror, a man who single handedly changed the course of history...and who was worshipped as a god. There have been many attempts in the 2,300 years since Alexander's death to tell the epic story of this enigmatic soldier. His deeds read like the stuff of legends. Of all the chroniclers of Alexander, and there have been many famous ones, including Plutarch and Ptolemy, none have given us a clearer and truer account than the one by Arrian.

A good listen but a bit confusing
Revisado: 07-12-04
I overall liked this book but it is a bit to chew through. It has lots of names and facts in it and a overall good story (historical) guide line, but sometimes understanding what is going on is a bit hard.
It was written at least 1500 years ago so most of problems with the book itself is understandable as dramatic themes and verse is quite different today.
This book is not for the faint of heart when it comes to Alexander. A modern version would be about 1/3 of the lenght.
