Historia
Bryan Stevenson was a young lawyer when he founded the Equal Justice Initiative, a legal practice dedicated to defending those most desperate and in need: the poor, the wrongly condemned, and women and children trapped in the farthest reaches of our criminal justice system. One of his first cases was that of Walter McMillian, a young man who was sentenced to die for a notorious murder he insisted he didn’t commit. The case drew Bryan into a tangle of conspiracy, political machination, and legal brinksmanship—and transformed his understanding of mercy and justice forever.

Really powerful insight into the work the justice system still needs to treat everyone fairly
Revisado: 10-13-20
Really powerful, heartwarming/heartbreaking, and eye opening. Something that stuck with me: near the end, the author says that domestic terrirism isn’t new. Black people have been afraid of the domestic terrorism of white people since they were brought here. Of course this is true but I never thought of it in those terms.

Pronunciation issues

My biggest issue with this book was the narration. In a book about start up culture, the narrator pronounced the word “gif” as “jif”, which I couldn’t get past and returned the book.
