Historia
Thirty-seven-year-old Ramie Phillips has led a very successful life. She made her fortune, and now she hobnobs with the very rich and occasionally the semifamous, and she enjoys luxuries she only dreamed of as a middle-class kid growing up in Potomac, Maryland. But despite it all, she can't ignore the fact that she isn't necessarily happy. In fact lately Ramie has begun to feel more than a little empty.

No attention to detail...
Revisado: 09-28-15
Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?
Overall, I enjoyed the story. However, too many inconsistencies dragged it down for me.
How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?
For the author to keep the same story consistently. There were places where she said one thing happened, then in 50 pages it was completely different. I'm not sure how to expand on that without giving away plot, but it had nothing to do with the time travel aspect.
What does Orlagh Cassidy bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
She is a great narrator, expressive, with good changes between characters.
If this book were a movie would you go see it?
Maybe
Any additional comments?
I wanted to love this book and I did like the overall story. It just felt like an editor had never laid eyes on it to point out the glaring inconsistencies in the subplot.

Historia
For Kate Klein, suburbia's been full of unpleasant surprises. Her once-loving husband is hardly ever home. The supermommies on the playground routinely snub her. Her days are spent carpooling, and at night, most of her orgasms are of the do-it-yourself variety. So when a fellow mother is murdered, Kate finds that the unsolved mystery is one of the most interesting things to happen in Upchurch. She launches an unofficial investigation with the help of two friends and discovers the secrets and lies behind the town's placid picket-fence facade....

It was a little disapponting
Revisado: 05-06-15
Is there anything you would change about this book?
I wasn't a fan of Kate's relationships with men. The way she treated her husband and the way she viewed Ethan- I didn't understand why she had feelings for Ethan, that part wasn't really fleshed out.
How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?
Fleshed out the Ethan character, more information about why Kate was still attracted to him.
Which character – as performed by Johanna Parker – was your favorite?
Janie
Do you think Goodnight Nobody needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?
No, though I would like to know how/who Kate ended up with.
Any additional comments?
While the story was enjoyable, I would have liked more fleshed out characters. Kate's feelings and actions seemed arbitrary and selfish sometimes where some more insight into her character would have made me like her more, or at least understand why she did what she did.

Historia
In Tempting Fate by Jane Green, Gabby and Elliott have been happily married for 18 years. They have two teenaged daughters; they have built a life together. So why does 43-year-old Gabby feel like she has only three more minutes left of youth? Why do her friends so desperately try to hang on to their attractiveness? And why does she ever even look at the handsome guy - 10 years younger - at the other end of the bar one night? Gabby is the last person to have an affair - a physical one, at least.

Interesting Listen
Revisado: 07-15-14
What did you love best about Tempting Fate?
I liked the twists and turns to the story. It was a little predictable but the truthfulness and raw emotion presented made me forget that. I liked that while the characters made progress in their lives, the story did not end all wrapped up perfectly.
How did the narrator detract from the book?
She didn't have enough difference in the characters voices. Also, she was voicing people from the US with a British accent, which was confusing since it was hard to tell the character voices apart in the first place.

Historia
Thirty-three-year-old Shea Rigsby has spent her entire life in Walker, Texas - a small college town that lives and dies by football, a passion she unabashedly shares. Raised alongside her best friend, Lucy, the daughter of Walker’s legendary head coach, Clive Carr, Shea was too devoted to her hometown team to leave. Instead she stayed in Walker for college, even taking a job in the university athletic department after graduation, where she has remained for more than a decade.

The first book I haven't liked by Emily Giffin
Revisado: 07-15-14
What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?
I didn't like the story or the characters. The story was too slow to build- hours and hours passed before anything actually happened and it was predictable. The main character wasn't relatable at all and I didn't understand the motivation for her actions. She and her best friend Lucy said they were best friends- but I honestly couldn't tell why, other than they lived in the same town.
Would you ever listen to anything by Emily Giffin again?
I will probably try another , as I have liked the rest of her books.
What character would you cut from The One & Only?
Shea, Lucy, I really didn't like many of the characters

Historia
Dune Road is the story of life in an exclusive beach town after the tourists have left for the summer and the eccentric (and moneyed) community sticks around. Our heroine is a single mom who works for a famous - and famously reclusive - novelist. When she stumbles on a secret that the great man has kept hidden for years, she knows that there are plenty of women in town who would love to get their hands on it - including some who fancy the writer for themselves.

Not one of her best...
Revisado: 07-15-14
Would you try another book from Jane Green and/or Cassandra Campbell?
Yes, I usually like Jane Green's work.
What about Cassandra Campbell’s performance did you like?
She did a good job of using different character voices.
Any additional comments?
This was not one of my favorites from Jane Green. Kit is hard to root for- she trusts the wrong people and for unknown reasons. The story was too predictable and tied up too quickly and nicely.

Historia
Southern belle BeBe Loudermilk has lost all her worldly possessions, thanks to a brief but disastrous relationship with the gorgeous Reddy, an "investment counselor" who turns out to be a con man. All that's left is a ramshackle 1950s motel on Tybee Island, an eccentric beach town that calls itself a drinking village with a fishing problem.

Very Disappointing
Revisado: 02-12-14
Would you try another book from Mary Kay Andrews and/or Isabel Keating?
I love Mary Kay Andrews books. I have most of them from Audible and will definitely get more. I will just be more careful to make sure they are not this narrator and not abridged.
Would you recommend Savannah Breeze to your friends? Why or why not?
No. First of all, it is abridged which is my own fault I didn't look closely at the listing but none of my other audible books by Mary Kay Andrews were abridged. Secondly, the narrator was HORRIBLE, butchering the names of people and places.
What didn’t you like about Isabel Keating’s performance?
Horrible pronunciation of names and places, voices for characters were odd, very fake southern accent
If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from Savannah Breeze?
It was abridged, I would say none
Any additional comments?
Very disappointing from a great author and usually good audible.

Historia
Loreen Murphy hadn't meant to hire a male prostitute in Las Vegas. It was all just a big, stupid, expensive misunderstanding. Abbey Walsh never intended anyone to find out about the fact that she's being blackmailed. As a minister's wife, her sordid past was supposed to be a secret. Tiffany Vanderslice Dreyer never dreamed that she'd find herself up to her eyeballs in credit card debt from one mad moment of a shopping spree. She's an upstanding wife and mother with the perfect marriage...right?

If you could sum up Secrets of a Shoe Addict in three words, what would they be?
Breezy fun read
What was one of the most memorable moments of Secrets of a Shoe Addict?
The calls to the housewives are hysterical
What about Orlagh Cassidy’s performance did you like?
She goes at a great speed, uses lots of inflection and is easy to understand
If you could take any character from Secrets of a Shoe Addict out to dinner, who would it be and why?
Sondra, she seems like she would be a blast to hang out with
Any additional comments?
All Beth Harbison's books are great reads, Orlagh Cassidy does all of them and she is wonderful.
