I have not enjoyed a book this much in ages! I find myself hoping that the author will use this as a series starter.
The characters were well fleshed out and immediately caught my feelings! I am truly sorry to have reached the end. More please!

OMG tame the dang narrator!!!

I really have enjoyed the story and progression. Having said that the narrator has been almost too much to continue listening. Non stop obnoxious screaming makes using ear buds problematic. And what’s up with the ridiculous amount of F bombs? Earlier books had a reasonable amount that fit with the story and characters. Now it’s like a filler that adds nothing to the story.
Come on, earlier books were a pleasure to listen to. Now I have to suffer through the screaming and repeated destruction of the house, trees, and the yard. If you’ve run out of ideas or passion for the body of work send it to the light.

Sorry, too much sex just to have sex in the book.

Seriously, the story is fine but come on with the down and dirty sex. Case in point, when your mate is drowned and brought back to life NO ONE is going to insist on sex.
Laurel Hamilton had a great series until she tossed in a lot of sex. But she still managed to make it relevant to the storyline.
Not spending my hard earned money to listen to smut.

Narrator is so, so bad. I had to slow the speed.

The story line is good with fun characters. However, the narrator speaks way too fast and should have checked pronunciations before beginning. Phrasing is terrible and accents are awful. The dog/monster growls actually made me wince.
The author uses certain words and phrases too often. “He shot a look”, “I shot a look”, they all shot looks.
Detritus…overused and mispronounced.

Starts very slow and confusing

I had no idea what was going on at the beginning of this book. I wanted to just give up the entire time but I hoped it would get better.
I feel it was a waste of a credit and really don’t recommend this book.

Hidden gem

I was pleasantly surprised by this book. The characters are very like a real situation would be, diverse and quirky.
The concept isn’t a rehash of other plots and the pace is good.
Great narration was the icing on the cake.
Now on to the next in the series!

Good story, abysmal narration.

This is the WORST narrator I have ever heard. Wasn’t there any quality control? Mispronounced words, no inflection, ending a sentence as if it was an afterthought.
The story was good but it was ALL I could do to get through the first story.
We should be paid to listen instead of the other ways around.
It’s GIZA - geezah not gizza. Gallery not galley. Petra peh trah not pee traw.
