Historia
They had a plan, but it didn't include getting stuck in the 19th century! In this stand-alone adventure, Robert, James, and Lucy Baxter travel to the 19th century on an important mission, starting by befriending a young Charles Dickens. If the children fail, it could prove fatal for one of them. They have to work as a team to find a way through their problems, especially as once again they find themselves stuck, without the means to get home. At that point, Lucy realizes she needs to step up and take control, or all will be lost!

Great story that keeps you captivated
Revisado: 02-04-22
I was given a free copy of this audiobook and I have voluntarily left this review:
I would say that I really, really enjoyed this audiobook. This is book 3 in the series, but you don’t necessarily need to listen to them in order (it helps, but you can still listen to this as a stand-alone). Also, while the author took some slight liberties regarding the historical facts/dates, it was just to make this a more enjoyable story.
In this story the 3 Baxter kids head back in time to 1824 to obtain a missing artifact that could spell imminent doom for one of the Baxters if they don’t succeed. As you can guess, not everything goes as planned, and they end up staying in 1824 a little longer than they intended. They’re smart kids, though, so they’ll figure out a plan…
The author is a great storyteller, and the narrator does an excellent job bringing his stories to life. I’ve listened to a couple of the audiobooks in this series and they have all been great. The only reason I haven’t left reviews for those audiobooks is because I’m not good at writing reviews. To sum up this review- this truly is a great book and you won’t be disappointed.

Hollywood actress Hope Hadley doesn't think that things can get any worse for her. In the last 24 hours, her boyfriend has broken up with her and her long-running police procedural TV show has been canceled. When a homicide detective shows up at her door the next morning with news that her ex-boyfriend has been murdered, she realizes that her troubles are just beginning. She is shocked - not only to learn of her ex's death, but also to find out that the police consider her to be a suspect.

Cute cozy mystery
Revisado: 07-02-19
I have to agree with some of the other reviewers - Hope Hadley isn't the most likable person. She's accused of murdering her very recent ex-boyfriend, so she tries to find the killer to keep from being charged with murder. I don't know that I would go snooping around asking potential killers what they were doing at the time of the murder. Come on, they just killed someone. Do you think they wouldn't do it to you, too? Overall, though, it was a cute cozy mystery- a quick story of only about 2 hours.

Fast paced sci-fi space opera
Revisado: 01-01-19
This is a fast paced book where the main character (Caleb) finds himself in the middle of a conflict that he has no choice but to see it through to the end. I like how Caleb doesn't take shit from anyone, and can back it up with his jacked-up bioengineered body. The story has lots of action and a great cast of characters. Just to note, at first I wasn't too keen on the narration, but it quickly grew on me. I liked this book well enough that I purchased books 2 & 3. I'm looking forward to seeing how the story continues for Caleb.

Historia
Wiping out humanity is his number one objective - until he meets her. Aramus has no patience or sympathy for the excuses humanity uses to hunt cyborgs down and eradicate them. He's put up with too much at their hands to ever forgive and forget. But all that changes when he rescues a fragile human doctor who refuses to see him as a machine. She teaches him that perhaps not all emotions are a weakness and that love can make even a cynical cyborg like him stronger. And for those who'd mock his change of view or threaten his female? Go ahead. His knuckles could use some exercise.

I wish a cyborg would rescue me!
Revisado: 06-23-18
Another great story by Eve Langlais. This story about a (sexy) cyborg kept me entertained during my morning walk, yard mowing and continued on to well after lunch. I listened to The whole book in one setting, it was that enjoyable. Can’t wait to download another Eve Langlais audio book!
