It is very short and kinda hard to figure out what is going on. Also feel like there is a new romantic interest every book.

Very slow

If the first book was a nice mix between action and development, this one was like crawling. I did like the book but it felt like 5 hour of book and the rest was fluff. And a bit of spoilers but the ruin was just boring. The whole story and we didn’t even get that much growth really you could skip to when the investigator shows up and not miss much. Also there relationship’s development seemed very rushed and inorganic.

An unexpected find

To be perfectly honest I only this book because it is the prequel to the book I actually wanted to read but I was surprised about how good it was. There is of course a major disconnect between who I think of as the author and who I think is the type of person to have written to this book and I think that speaks to its literary complexity. Although this book did finish its arc it left the arc of winter, the main character, open and I am delighted to know that I don’t have to wait to read the next book.

Nothing happens

The entity of this book could be summed up in 2 sentences. I kept listening simply for the end just to get the cartoon villain ending. I’m really disappointed.

Great story terrible villain

Great book lots of development. One problem the final fight reads like 2 toddlers in a sandpit and to make things worse it is with a character that has 0 depth and seems to be pulled out whenever a big fight happens. This has happened in every book so far but it seems so forced in this book. The author writes a very good story about a somewhat interesting character just to kill her off and introduces Mr. bad again to wrap this book up like all the rest.

Absolute fire

An amazing concept that I’ve never seen in the litrpg community. Although very familiar in the souls like aspect it is refreshing in a book.

I had high hope for for this book

The over done slavery trope in this book makes most of the middle of the book unenjoyable to read. It is so overdone it feel like the author just copied that section for another book.
