Historia
Timed for a trial that will capture national attention, When the Night Comes Falling examines the mysterious murders of the four University of Idaho students. Having covered this case from its start, Edgar award winning investigative reporter Howard Blum takes listeners behind the scenes of the police manhunt that eventually led to suspected killer, Bryan Christopher Kohberger, and uncovered larger, lurid questions within this unthinkable tragedy.

Deeper Look at the Idaho Killer
Revisado: 09-23-24
This is an important book for those who want to take a deeper look into the Idaho student murders and the information about the alleged killer and his background. I think the performance was well done.

Historia
The murder of Arlis Perry inside Stanford Memorial Church flummoxed detectives for nearly 44 years. Then the case ended with a bang. Early on the morning of Oct. 13, 1974, a security guard found the body of 19-year-old Arlis Perry underneath a pew inside the historic church at the heart of Stanford's campus. The deeply religious wife of a Stanford sophomore, Arlis had gone to pray in the sanctuary late the night before.

The Most Complete Story of Arlis Perry
Revisado: 04-03-24
Well narrated and giving what seems to be the most comprehensive overview of one of the most intriguing stories of true crime. I really enjoyed it and might have to re-listen to it again.

We've all seen them. The people who walk to the beat of a different drummer. We've shook our heads and wondered just what they were thinking and why they do what they are doing. We've puzzled over their behaviors, questioned them and in some cases asked them to stop an annoying behavior but they quickly fall right back into the same patterns.

Just the Basics
Revisado: 10-23-19
it sounded like a textbook for high school students. The narration was robotic and also very sparse as far as information although good for a beginner. also there was some information that I do not believe was 100% accurate.

Historia
In the middle of the night, in a house on a quiet street in suburban Minneapolis, intruders silently murder Luke Ellis' parents and load him into a black SUV. The operation takes less than two minutes. Luke will wake up at The Institute, in a room that looks just like his own, except there's no window. And outside his door are other doors, behind which are other kids with special talents - telekinesis and telepathy - who got to this place the same way Luke did: Kalisha, Nick, George, Iris, and 10-year-old Avery Dixon.

Another Winner by King!
Revisado: 10-05-19
written in the classic Stephen King Style, The Institute brings to life of its characters much like all Kings novels do. this would make a wonderful movie! this novel kept my interest throughout. the narrator did a good job reading the text with much feeling and enthusiasm when needed. the only thing I can say against the narrator is that it seemed he sometimes forgot which character he was. he still did an outstanding job though.

Historia
Detective Derek Mois wasn’t sure what he was dealing with when in March 2008 he walked into a home in an affluent Omaha neighborhood and was confronted with two bodies. Both had been murdered with kitchen knives plunged into their throats. Who would do something so vile, and why? Lacking answers, Mois and other detectives working the case were stumped. Five years later, a strikingly similar crime occurred in which two more victims were brutally murdered with knives expertly thrust into their jugular veins.

so far the best I've read for 2019
Revisado: 01-17-19
I've read quite a few crime stories on Audible. This one was very well written then also delivered in such a way that you hung on every word. this is written concisely factually and recorded in such a way that you really feel involved in the story.

Historia
Four children were abducted and murdered outside of Detroit during the winters of 1976 and 1977; their bodies eventually dumped in snow banks around the city. J. Reuben Appelman was six years old at the time the murders began and had evaded an abduction attempt during that same period, fueling a lifelong obsession with what became known as the Oakland County Child Killings. There were few credible leads and equally few credible suspects. That's what the cops had passed down to the press, and that's what the city of Detroit and J. Reuben Appelman had come to believe.

hard to follow
Revisado: 01-05-19
the story itself was good. I did have trouble though paying attention well enough due to the readers mostly monotone delivery.

Historia
In the town of Ada, Oklahoma, Ron Williamson was going to be the next Mickey Mantle. But on his way to the Big Leagues, Ron stumbled, his dreams broken by drinking, drugs, and women. Then, on a winter night in 1982, not far from Ron’s home, a young cocktail waitress named Debra Sue Carter was savagely murdered. The investigation led nowhere. Until, on the flimsiest evidence, it led to Ron Williamson. The washed-up small-town hero was charged, tried, and sentenced to death - in a trial littered with lying witnesses and tainted evidence....

great story
Revisado: 12-24-18
Gresham is an excellent writer and also great documentarian. I felt like I was in Ada Oklahoma myself and watch this poor man suffer through a hell on Earth because of a weak system full of dirty cops and prosecution. there is a lot of insight here on what can go wrong in the justice system
