Listening to this book was excruciating. The narrator’s dramatic interpretation was monochromatic and singsongy in delivery. This is one book I wish I had gotten in paperback or kindle.

Great and complicated story

I loved the development of the characters throughout the series. They weren’t flat or two dimensional. The story was intricate and came together beautifully in the end. By the last book, I started having an inkling of how it all tied together but didn’t figure it all out which was great. And that tying it all together in the end made sense. There wasn’t some random unknown thing that showed up in the end that felt out of place. This was a brilliantly detailed story that had me engaged the entire time.

Don’t waste your credit- even for nearly 50 hours

I made it through the first book. I’m still unsure if I’ll continue. Not likely since I have credits to spend.

There’s not much of a storyline. There is, however, excessive eyebrow movement. After the 10th or so time the author mentions eyebrow movement I thought- I should have counted the eyebrow thing. Little did I know it had only just begun and would be a recurring theme throughout the book. There is also a lot of what seems like filler dialogue that isn’t very interesting. The dialogue includes a lot of hard laughter. Like ‘laughing so hard he literally fell off the chair’ kind of thing. And the dialogue might warrant a chuckle at best. It’s just not a great listen with the poor dialogue, under developed story, lackluster humor, and excessive talk of eyebrows.

This story has it all. Great character development, great storyline, and great battles that don’t go on too long. The narration is great too. Can’t wait for more in the series.

Fun story

I loved the narration and different voices for the characters. This story was so good I listened every time I could! I even put in headphones while doing yard work. Although not unpredictable, I was always wanting to hear what was coming next.

Great, multi-layered story!

I love the narrator’s voice, cadence, and character voices. He is the reason I gave this saga a try. I was not disappointed! I love the well developed characters and multi-layered storylines. I appreciate the length of each book. Can’t wait to hear more!
