Holly’s Voice
Revisado: 10-27-23
I love Holly. But I miss her voice as narrated by Will Patton. The cadence of her speech is part of her character and it’s not here. The narrator is fine and I guess she played Holly on the tv Mr Mercedes which I didn’t watch so I sometimes forgot I was listening to a story starring Holly. Jerome didn’t sound like Jerome, etc. I did think it was a good story so I would recommend it.

Accent?
Revisado: 07-01-22
Why? Why in the reading of the 5th book did you have to make Ayla talk with an accent? It’s making it hard for me to listen. It’s terrible. It’s been mentioned in all the books from 2 thru 4 that she has an accent. But it wasn’t read that way. So why change it? It’s not even a good accent performance!!!! AAAGH!!!

Interesting story
Revisado: 03-27-22
The trilogy is a really good story. But I got a little tired of hearing the word “anyways” used in all three books. Anyways isn’t a proper word and I guess you could consider it slang. But anyway is an adverb and cannot be plural. Also “shot his head back”. Used over and over. An odd phrase and not easy to picture someone shooting their head back. It just bugs me when an author uses basically one phrase to describe shock or surprise. Change it up! You are a writer! But otherwise all of the books in the series tell an interesting tale.

The history of magic is as long as time and as wide as the world. In every culture, in every age, in every place and, probably, in every heart, there is magic. Harry Potter: A History of Magic reveals some of the hidden stories behind real-world magic and explores some of J.K. Rowling's magical inventions alongside their folkloric, cultural and historical forebears.

Annoying Expert
Revisado: 05-10-21
I’m writing this review before I complete the book. It’s actually very interesting and fun. The narrator is fine. She does a good job. BUT one of the experts (Joanna Norledge) that is frequently speaking on various subjects is as annoying as it can get when listening to a book. She laughs or giggles after nearly every other sentence she utters and it’s distracting from the info she is providing. It’s driving me crazy. I want to listen to the whole book because it is interesting but this woman is really ruining it for me!!

Historia
On July 14th, 1966, Richard Franklin Speck swept through a quiet Chicago townhouse like a summer tornado and stabbed, strangled, and killed eight young nurses in a violent sexual rampage. By morning, only one nurse, Corazon Amurao, had miraculously survived, and her scream of terror was heard around the world. As the eight bodies were carried out of the small building, the coroner, who had seen the carnage up close, told a gathering crowd: "It is the crime of the century!"

Bad narration
Revisado: 01-15-20
I feel the narrative should have been male. I cant stand a woman trying to mimic a man and add the southern drawl to it and it was agonizing for me!
