Historia
January First is a brilliant and harrowingly honest memoir. The story of Michael Schofield's daughter January's descent into scizophrenia, and her family's struggle to save her, will fascinate and move listeners. January First is the extraordinary story of a father's fight to save his child from an extremely severe case of mental illness in the face of overwhelming adversity.

The parents love for their child, and strength through all of the bad days no matter what.

I was surprised by many crazy decisions the dad thought would be ok and acceptable, Rather immature at times. He loved his daughter and did not give up despite all the issues. Also happy the programs were there for them in school etc.

Historia
After Tova Sullivan’s husband died, she began working the night shift at the Sowell Bay Aquarium, mopping floors and tidying up. Keeping busy has always helped her cope, which she’s been doing since her eighteen-year-old son, Erik, mysteriously vanished on a boat in Puget Sound over thirty years ago. Tova becomes acquainted with curmudgeonly Marcellus, a giant Pacific octopus living at the aquarium. Marcellus knows more than anyone can imagine but wouldn’t dream of lifting one of his eight arms for his human captors—until he forms a remarkable friendship with Tova.

Historia
Vietnamese refugees Debbie and Phil Tran have built a comfortable life for themselves in Toronto with their family nail salon. Historia
Carlotta Mercedes has been misunderstood her entire life. When she was pulled into a robbery gone wrong, she still went by the name she’d grown up with in Fort Greene, Brooklyn—before it gentrified. But not long after her conviction, she took the name Carlotta and began to live as a woman, an embrace of selfhood that prison authorities rejected, keeping Carlotta trapped in an all-male cell block, abused by both inmates and guards, and often placed in solitary.

Historia
Louie Anderson has been channeling his beloved mom in his iconic stand-up comedy for decades - but she passed away before getting to see him reach new heights with his breakout role. Hey Mom is Louie's way of catching Ora Zella Anderson up on everything that has been going on in his life, including his continued struggles with food and family, but also how so much has changed for the better. He also has plenty of laugh-out-loud stories about his incredibly resilient mother and his 10 siblings, as well as observations on the absurdities of life.

I discovered Louie's hilarity when gathered around a large TV downstairs watching a late night show at our college dorm. Must have been the Letterman show, since we were studying at Dave's alma mater, and no one dared switch the channel to other shows! So glad we did not. Louie was brilliant, kind, real and truly golden! He will be missed! R.I.P. Lou! Have listened to him read this one, watched many of his shows including Baskets where he played Christine, a character modeled after his own mother! What a Mom! 11 kids, of which Louie was #1O! I will be sure to read/listen to all his books now!

Historia
If there’s one trait that makes someone well-suited to comedy, it’s being able to take a punch - metaphorically and, occasionally, physically. Told with a healthy dose of self-deprecation, A Very Punchable Face reveals the brilliant mind behind some of the dumbest sketches on television, and lays bare the heart and humor of a hardworking guy - with a face you can’t help but want to punch.

Mildly or utterly obsessed with true crime?
Revisado: 02-13-19
I've been wondering about my interest in stories that often have no happy ending. Why do we put ourselves through this, knowing that often someone is dead or missing? In a world that cries out for justice, I've been drawn to those sensitive souls who "care too much." There is a place for those who want to put this positivity into the universe in hopes that somehow, someone will be saved.
Let me introduce you to James Renner! His younger year's obsession with a missing girl led to a career in reporting and then books and shows. Read on....
