Unexpectedly decent
Revisado: 04-23-25
I just finished listening to Sugarland, and wow—what a ride. This audiobook had me frustrated, captivated, and completely hooked from start to finish. The twists and turns were relentless, and every time I thought I had it figured out, the story flipped again.
What really struck me was how eerily similar it felt to Into the Madness by Trevor Aaronson. If you’ve listened to that one, you’ll definitely catch the same unsettling undertones here. It’s creepy in the worst way, especially the way it explores manipulation and obsession through modern tech.
Sugarland isn’t just a thriller—it’s a psychological maze that pulls you in and doesn’t let go. Highly recommend if you’re into suspenseful, layered storytelling with a touch of the unexpected.

Historia
Dr. Margaret Richter has it all. She’s rich, thanks to her best-selling self-help books. She has a beautiful home in Cape Cod overlooking the beach. And she has a monthly book club that everyone is dying to get invited to. Literally. Because behind the crystal wine glasses, the fine linens and the catered hors d'oeuvres lies a tangled web of secrets, of deceit, of murder. No member of the book club is innocent—and many are guilty. And the person with the most to hide is Margaret Richter herself.

Truly Twisted
Revisado: 04-21-25
This book was very engaging. I appreciate the thought process and the unique approach to delivering the story—I could visualize every scene clearly. The narrators brought the characters to life in a way that made the twists hit even harder. It’s unfortunate that Margret got away with everything, but that’s part of what made it feel so real—sometimes evil wins. The pacing kept me on edge, and the story had just the right balance of dark humor and psychological tension. I’d definitely recommend this to fans of clever thrillers with a slightly sinister twist.

Today - as repeated attempts to “fix ourselves and our lives” fail - many of us face unprecedented fears about the future, struggle with unspeakable life tragedies, and sink under the belief that certain lives do not matter in our society. Others confront our epidemic of anxiety with fierce resistance, or “the fight to be right”, criticizing anyone and everyone just to end up stuck. In the face of such pervasive human suffering, New York Times best-selling author and legendary life coach Iyanla Vanzant challenges us: What if it’s not them - what if it’s you?

Powerful book
Revisado: 05-25-24
I enjoyed this book so much that I purchased the hard copy as well to follow along and perform some of the exercises. This book really helped me put things into perspective, not feel sorry for myself and take control of my destiny. I have noticed a huge shift in my demeanor for the better. I absolutely love it and I have read this book several times now just to keep myself on track with where I want to be. Elohim The Most High is Amazing!!!

Words. We use them all the time, every day, mostly without giving them much thought at all. We take for granted that they’re here at our disposal whenever we need them. But if you’ve ever wished you could communicate more effectively, words are the place to start. It’s incumbent upon you to choose the best words to accomplish your goals, because how you choose to communicate influences—well, everything! The power of communication shapes our professional goals, our relationships, and our lives—so the words we choose to use carry a great deal of power.

Can’t Hurt Me, David Goggins’ smash hit memoir, demonstrated how much untapped ability we all have but was merely an introduction to the power of the mind. In Never Finished, Goggins takes you inside his Mental Lab, where he developed the philosophy, psychology, and strategies that enabled him to learn that what he thought was his limit was only his beginning and that the quest for greatness is unending.

Another Amazing Read
Revisado: 01-22-23
I love the structure of this book as well. Reading and recapturing the events is just unmatched. I love the growth, the drive the maturity, the knowledge, the discernment and the vulnerability that he shared with us. Many people won’t get it but it takes a special type of soul to live like this and that’s okay because everyone has their own life to live. This definitely ignited something in me and I’m very appreciative that these stories were shared.

Not what I expected
Revisado: 01-20-23
This was a fairly decent book. I enjoyed the story line. The title was misleading and I am happy it all worked out because I love a good cliche book. This definitely made the time go by while sitting in the airport. I love the narrator she really brought the story to life with me.

Amazing
Revisado: 12-08-22
This story and performance was amazing! It was so captivating and mostly believable. I am drawn to things that I can relate to and I related to many things in this story. It was a bit racey but reading the first book of the series set me up for this and it was expected for this character. I can’t say enough about how much I enjoyed reading this book and how it was built perfectly from “Teach Me”.

Historia
Stable, safe, predictable—all words that aptly describe Professor Nadia Day’s life. An existence she’s carefully crafted for herself despite her unconventional upbringing and what, to her, is an unseemly past. The last thing she would ever do is rock the boat when it comes to her life and livelihood. When retired football player and single dad, Nathan Moore, walks into her psychology classroom, all fine and dreadlocked, he does more than rock her boat—he rocks her world and causes her to question her buttoned-up existence.

Dream read
Revisado: 12-07-22
I enjoyed the story! The narrators did a great job giving the characters life, although it was a little hard to listen to the raspy male voice’s at first. I liked the fantasy and the drama, it wasn’t a perfect lifestyle and it had a lot of believable parts to it. For the parts that were just out of this world fantasy I found it funny and fitting. Overall…it’s a good and entertaining read. BTW…we all know someone who doesn’t pronounce something correctly or say the correct word but somehow we understand them.

Revisado: 11-11-22
This was a fun listen. It was a great read for a two hour train ride. It’s the perfect relationship you can actually picture in a movie. Yes cliché, but I love, love! The narrator’s brought the characters to life and the way they described each other was just so tasteful and adorable! It definitely sets me in the mood to enjoy a beautiful new town.
