Historia
Sacred Economics traces the history of money from ancient gift economies to modern capitalism, revealing how the money system has contributed to alienation, competition, and scarcity; destroyed community; and necessitated endless growth. Today, these trends have reached their extreme - but in the wake of their collapse, we may find great opportunity to transition to a more connected, ecological, and sustainable way of being.

Nailed it but it's a theoretical script
Revisado: 03-28-18
The narrator does well, the book in its entirety is one of the best audibles I have, the subject is actually nice. I don't know but I don't believe this is a be all end all, I would guess hat its better than other money books. His book will sort of shift you. Also capital By Pickety would go well with this one for learning about equality which is a primary theme in sacred economics.

Historia
Through Euclid's Window Leonard Mlodinow brilliantly and delightfully leads us on a journey through five revolutions in geometry, from the Greek concept of parallel lines to the latest notions of hyperspace. Here is an altogether new, refreshing, alternative history of math revealing how simple questions anyone might ask about space -- in the living room or in some other galaxy -- have been the hidden engine of the highest achievements in science and technology.

Unique in the science books
Revisado: 03-28-18
I do recommend this book to the person who has no idea about math or anything like it. It's not deep but it isn't vague. The book shows you a place in time, when people either knew stuff or didn't same as today. This book is great if you are interested in the timeline of the subject not articulation of the subject except for relation to others. I have listened to it a few times it is worth buying over a novel.

The Curmudgeon's Guide to Getting Ahead

Historia
Best-selling social historian Charles Murray has written a delightfully fussy - and entertaining - book on the hidden rules of the road in the workplace - and in life - from the standpoint of an admonishing, but encouraging, workplace grouch and taskmaster. Why the curmudgeon? The fact is that most older, more senior people in the workplace are closet curmudgeons. In today's politically correct world, they may hide their displeasure over your misuse of grammar or your overly familiar use of their first name without an express invitation. But don't be fooled by their pleasant demeanor....

I like to give a good review
Revisado: 03-28-18
But this book just drives me off that it is even in my library, I listened once and it's basically wrote by a black hole of a guy basically who I would see as the enemy of mankind. You want to know something I did learn from having heard the man out. That is more of a spiritual approach to the workplace, and just believe in your gut and have empathy so that you know, people like this author exist and will crush you.

Historia
We are all familiar with the idea that machines are powered by electricity, but perhaps not so aware that this is also true for ourselves. "The Spark of Life" is a spectacular account of the body electric, showing how, from before conception to the last breath we draw, electrical signals in our cells are essential to everything we think and do. These signals are produced by some amazing proteins that sit at the forefront of current scientific research - the ion channels. They are found in every cell in Earth and they govern every aspect of our lives, from consciousness to sexual attraction, fighting infection, our ability to see and hear, and the beating of our hearts.

Just a very poorly titled book
Revisado: 03-28-18
There are at least 1000 science books on audible, with every page filled up with the exact same facts of sciences history. This one really I expected better but I remember listening for an hour and there wasn't one mention of electricity, just entire chapters with nothing to do with the title of the book. The ideas about electricity in the book are cut and dry also. I was hoping for something like tesla stuff, never finished it since it's barely educational.

Historia
You are reading the word now right now. But what does that mean? What makes the ephemeral moment "now" so special? Its enigmatic character has bedeviled philosophers, priests, and modern-day physicists from Augustine to Einstein and beyond. Einstein showed that the flow of time is affected by both velocity and gravity, yet he despaired at his failure to explain the meaning of now. Equally puzzling: Why does time flow? Some physicists have given up trying to understand and call the flow of time an illusion.

Revisado: 03-06-18
I decided on a good review after two listens the first time I heard at work and left out the last 20 minutes. This time, I practiced algebra and worked on math. So I can say amongst all of the audio books that are much alike when reading of physics; I got quite a few of them, this does the best job on utility. The other one I liked was the great courses thermodynamics, and the science book about the spoon. But Storm in a Teacup for example was the same book just not half as good. I'm pushing for an Illia Prigogine audiobook. That would be the best!

History of the superconductor
Revisado: 04-02-17
This book gives you words you may require to search for information the most interesting part for me was DIY superconductors. This was like a lesson in the people that made superconductors the story of the super conductors explained only I. The last twenty minutes what they are for. Surface knowledge is what you get, the characters of the superconductors. The disappearing spoon, 12 hour audiobook I listened to before this and it was lame to hear almost word for word the exact reproduction of stories. Not on the same level as thermodynamics brief introduction. That's a five star, this one was two-three The narrators of these could have relaxed a bit jeez.

Historia
The laws of thermodynamics drive everything that happens in the universe. From the sudden expansion of a cloud of gas to the cooling of hot metal - everything is moved or restrained by four simple laws. Written by Peter Atkins, one of the world's leading authorities on thermodynamics, this powerful and compact introduction explains what these four laws are and how they work, using accessible language and virtually no mathematics.

Listened over five times
Revisado: 03-20-17
The best part about the book is it taps into the slow learners mind and introduces concepts and the book keeps a bead on the listener and the idea of hearing it for the first time, so the narrator is thorough. As far as parts of the book I believe they accomplished for the visual learner a moving picture of what the topic is and could become.
