Historia
In A Fatal Winter, Max Tudor - Anglican priest, former MI5 agent, and village heartthrob - investigates two deaths at Chedrow Castle. But his growing attraction to Awena Owen complicates his case, as does the recent arrival at Chedrow Castle of a raucous group of long-lost, greedy relatives, any one of whom has a motive for murder. With a cozy setting, intricate puzzles, and a handsome (non-celibate) priest doing the sleuthing, the books in this series are destined to become instant classics in the mystery world.

Problem with narrator's "voice" for Max Tudor
Revisado: 02-16-14
Michael Page's narration is fine with the exception of the "voice" he chose for Max Tudor. Max Tudor is a 40-something year old man but Michael Page's voice for him is that of a man well into his 60's - too old, too phlegmatic.

Great narration!
Revisado: 07-20-10
Jonathan Keeble is an excellent narrator. I bought this book based on the skill of the narrator, only to be disappointed in the writing. The plot was disjointed, none of the characters, including the main character, Detective Inspector Angel, were fully developed. The book went from one incident to another, and tried hard in the end to knit all the disparate pieces together into an ill-fitting whole. Good narration, disappointing book.

Historia
"...there is nothing - absolutely nothing - half so much worth doing as simply messing about in boats." So says Rat, as he welcomes the lonely Mole to the community of the River. Whether messing about in boats, touring in Toad's motorcar, or simply relaxing at home, Mole, Rat, Otter, Toad, and Badger demonstrate the honorable human characteristics of kindness, patience, and tolerance toward all that have made this classic tale beloved by generations since it was first published in 1908.

Fabulous narration!
Revisado: 03-21-10
Terry Jones brings the little creatures to life. The pace and his voices for each of the creatures: the gentle mole, the clever water rat, the gruff but wise badger, and the crazed toad, were perfection. The only part of the story that dragged a bit was the overly long portion involving the sea rat. This story is still thoroughly enjoyable at any age.

Historia
An outbreak of kleptomania at a student hostel is not normally the sort of crime that arouses Hercule Poirot's interest. However, the warden of the hostel is his secretary Miss Lemon's sister, and efficient Miss Lemon is less than efficient when worried. To set her mind at ease, and decrease the number of mistakes in her typing, he agrees to meet with Mrs. Hubbard.

Miss Lemon's Sister?
Revisado: 03-21-10
This was a classic Christie, interesting but not overly complex plot (easy to follow when multi-tasking), good intrigue between the characters, and most interesting of all, to discover that the efficient-beyond-reproach Miss Lemon has a sister. Hugh Fraser, as always, does an excellent job with the narration.

This is the fourth novel in the Dalziel and Pascoe series, which was made into a hugely popular BBC TV serial. Supt Dalziel is rescued from a flood by a group of mourners. Bonnie Fielding seems far from worried about her husband's demise and Dalziel soon begins to fall for her, ignoring his suspicions. Soon her mansion is littered with corpses and Pascoe must rescue Dalziel from making a fool of himself.

What fun!
Revisado: 03-21-10
Colin Buchanan does an excellent job narrating the story. Andy Dalziel, at loose ends while on vacation, untangles family entaglements, solves a murder, and enjoys a romp in bed with a potential murderess. A thoroughly enjoyable "read"!

Classic Christie
Revisado: 01-25-10
A well-written well-plotted vintage English whodunit, as civilized and cozy as a good cup of tea. Excellent reading by Hugh Fraser, the wonderfully talented actor who plays Hercule Poirot's sidekick, Capt. Hastings, on the BBC series, Poirot.
