Loved It!
Revisado: 07-27-16
I like to read books that are part of a series. There are some I have been reading for several years. Many of these books lately have been a let down to me. It seems like Gail Garriger knows what her readers like and decided to give it to them. I enjoyed the whole thing. I haven't felt this way about a book in a while..

Historia
You'd think that being chief seer for the supernatural world would come with a few perks. But as Cassie Palmer has learned, being Pythia doesn't mean that you don't have to do things the hard way. That's why she finds herself on a rescue mission skipping through time - even though she doesn't entirely understand her dimension-bending new power.

A Series of Unfortunate Events for No Reason
Revisado: 06-06-16
It was hard to get through. There was so much going on that did nothing to move the story along. It got to the point where I didn't care what was happening with Cassie. The whole book doesn't do anything to move the series along.

Loved the book. Not the narrator.
Revisado: 03-09-16
Would you try another book from Amanda M. Lee and/or Karen Krause?
I love the Aisling Grimlock books, but the narrator of the audiobooks is terrible.
Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?
Yes. Given there was so much the main character didnt know, the listener is also kept in the dark. It got to a point where I just had to know the answers to the questions that kept building up.
How did the narrator detract from the book?
I didnt really like her tone and the rate at which she was reading. It seemed almost slurred, slowing down the pace of the book.
Could you see Grim Offerings being made into a movie or a TV series? Who should the stars be?
I don't see it being made into a tv series.

I loved it. Its Sookie Stackhouse without the vampires. It did have some places where it seemed to drag, but overall it was a good read.

Reminds me of a Darker version of Harry Potter.
Revisado: 01-02-15
Would you consider the audio edition of The Iron Trial to be better than the print version?
I'm a bit biased since I would rather listen to the audio version of just about every fiction novel over reading it.
What did you like best about this story?
The way the story reminded me of Harry Potter(love those books), but at the same time made me feel like i was listening to something unique.
What does Paul Boehmer bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
Pretty much why i love audio books. The book comes to life. The character's feelings becomes more distinct.
If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?
A unique experience for fans of Harry Potter.

Historia
What's a duke to do when a carefully selected bride rejects him rather than marry without love? He salvages his pride by marrying the next woman who falls into his arms. Joyous Fiona MacQuarrie bewitched the Duke of Belmore the moment she appeared from nowhere and knocked him over...literally. Joyous MacQuarrie is a Scottish witch whose powers of white magic are not always easy for her to control. When Alec's pride makes him choose to marry her, Joy turns the life of the most serious and snobbish duke in England upside down.

Not the Story You Think It Is.
Revisado: 01-02-15
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
Yes. I like paranormal romances. I also like them to surprise me and not be to mushy. I don't like to read just any kind of romance novel. There has to be be something unique about it or i may not finish it, This book seemed predictable, but then there was an unexpected surprise toward the end that made it a different book for me.
What was one of the most memorable moments of Bewitching?
When Alec learned his family's secret.
What about Anne Johnstonbrown’s performance did you like?
I really didn't like her. Its just her tone i think. It made me think of one of those cheesy romance novels with a lot of sex and no real substance. She wasn't a distraction. The story made up for the tone i don't like.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
Steven's trials and tribulations.

Too Much William!
Revisado: 06-08-13
Like the other books in this series, this could have been so much better. It seems as if Diana Gabaldon has a terrible editor or none at all. My biggest problem with this book is I DON'T CARE THAT MUCH ABOUT WILLIAM. Most of the book was unnecessary because it became William's story. Up to this point, William was a small part of Jamie's saga. All of a sudden, he becomes the focus. If the book would have been edited correctly, this would have been a wonderful book. The parts that actually mattered were great. It just seemed that another booked was shoved into this one so she can keep writing her usual larger than average books. If you have all the books in the series I would read it because there are some twists that are kind of exciting. But read this knowing it will be a long suffering process with great moments in between and at the very end.

Historia
Jamie Fraser knows from his time-traveling wife Claire that, no matter how unlikely it seems, America will win the Revolutionary War. But that truth offers little solace, since Jamie realizes he might find himself pointing a weapon directly at his own son - a young officer in the British army. And Jamie isn't the only one with a tormented soul - for Claire may know who wins the conflict, but she certainly doesn't know whether or not her beloved Jamie survives.

Ending Makes Sense Once Story is Read.
Revisado: 05-21-13
Listen to the book first before judging it. I was hesitant about this book because of the reviews and revelations about the ending. That ending seemed to come out of nowhere before I listened to the book. After listening to it, I realized that it made a lot of sense. It doesn't necessarily mean that the previous books mean nothing regarding Sookie's story. All the supernatural boyfriends she's had served to make Sookie realize how special she really is. She wasn't some freak living in a small town. Instead she began to attribute a large part to its safety. She got to be around people who treasured her. Now she has grown into her gift and she can graduate to a life more suited for her rather than trying to adjust herself to that of her current boyfriend. I did believe this series should have stopped at book ten before this book. This ending just makes so much more sense.
