Great narration/story a flop
Revisado: 02-05-25
I’ve listened to the other books in the series and they were all quite good. Obviously Angus King can make just about any book sound amazing, but this book needed more help than Angus could provide. The story started out good and was keeping my attention but then suddenly it started wrapping up and making leaps that left you scratching your head. Why so short? Not sure what happened but I’m super disappointed and won’t bother with another one by this author.

Good story, bad narration
Revisado: 11-27-24
I had read the reviews about the narration but thought “how bad can it be.” And then I heard Pets voice and almost had to shut it off. I felt like a surly teenager whenever he did her voice as I rolled my eyes and grumbled. Story is well written and I have enjoyed Neil’s other series so will stick through to the next book since it has a new narrator;)

Only saving grace was Angus King
Revisado: 06-01-24
Like many others, I bought this because I love Angus King’s narrations. But this was torture to get through. Sloppy inept writing that just dragged out forever. Contradicts throughout.

Excellent all around!
Revisado: 02-24-19
Like so many of the other reviewers, I wouldn’t have picked this book out - not in my usual genre. But thanks to the reviews, I am so thankful I did! The story is mesmerizing and the narrator is perfect for the roll! Don’t pass this one up!

Excruciating details
Revisado: 05-27-17
I'm all about details but not to the point of repetition and ad nauseum. I kept pushing through hoping that author would crank things up a bit but alas, it was a lack luster, exhausting story.
