Historia
The Man on the Mountaintop tells the story of Holy Man Joe, an ageing and unassuming man who lives in a hermitage on top of a mountain. During the summer months, thousands of hopefuls line the path leading to his door, seeking his wisdom. From bombastic, wealthy nobles intent on cheating their way to the top to drunkards who gradually build the physical and mental strength they need to quit their addiction, The Man on the Mountaintop is a rousing tale full of humour, wit and life lessons.

The best lessons are simple and clear
Revisado: 04-01-23
A beautiful and simple story with a lovely message, told with lightness, passion and conviction… and a thoughtfully abridged version of the original books.
The simple clarity of the tale is reminiscent of the great liturgical morality stories about enlightenment. (The New Testament, The Old Testament, The Bhagavad Gita, Siddhartha)
Plus it’s fun and easy listening.

Historia
Drawn from the enchanting tales told to Kipling as a child in India, Just So Stories reveals the magic of the dawn of the world, when animals could talk and think like people. Cats and dogs, kangaroos and tortoises, hedgehogs and jaguars, whales and leopards, and many others are brought to life in an exotic Eastern landscape of "high and far times ago". Children will discover how the leopard got his spots, the elephant his trunk, and the camel his hump through clever tales that subtly hint at the pitfalls of arrogance and the importance of creativity.

Historia
In an era of hardening religious attitudes and explosive religious violence, this book offers a welcome antidote. Richard Holloway retells the entire history of religion - from the dawn of religious belief to the 21st century - with deepest respect and a keen commitment to accuracy. Writing for those with faith and those without, and especially for young listeners, he encourages curiosity and tolerance, accentuates nuance and mystery and calmly restores a sense of the value of faith.

Essential. Fascinating. Insightful.
Revisado: 10-14-21
Such a compelling and thoughtful exploration of world religious histories. I really enjoyed this chronological and contextual description of the historical events involving the major religious movements.
Definitely recommend this for anyone interested in getting started on the path to knowing more about the influence God and gods have had in man’s history.

Historia
Eleanor, the charming manager of a cozy tea shop, enjoys the transportive ritual of making a cup of Masala Chai tea, reminisces about the tea's origins, and delights in the beauty of her quaint English village during the holidays. Bedtime stories are narrated by the world's most celebrated voices and written with no beginning, middle, or end so you don't stay up to hear what happens next. They're interesting enough to give your mind something to focus on, but delivered in a way that encourages sleep.

A very weak cup of tea
Revisado: 09-27-20
I guess I was expecting something more interesting than this superficial weak cup of tea. A lot of words that added up to almost nothing. Boring.
