Conducting a routine cover development trip to Tajikistan, Pike and Jennifer learn that Afghanistan has fallen, and there’s a man on the run. One that has done more for the United States in Afghanistan than anyone else. Pulled in to extract him, Pike collides headlong into a broader mystery: his covert company, along with every other entity in the Taskforce, has been hit with a ransomware attack, and there’s some connection between the Taliban and the hack.

Never lost interest in the story. Good narration, lots of characters, good performance. Hope the author keeps the stories coming.

Historia
Jack Ryan is dealing with an aggressive challenge from the Chinese government. Pawns are being moved around a global chessboard: an attack on an oil platform in Africa, a terrorist strike on an American destroyer, and a storm-tossed American spy ship that may fall into Chinese hands. It seems that President Zhao is determined to limit Ryan's choices in the upcoming G20 negotiations. But there are hints that there's even more going on behind the scenes.

Not My Fav
Revisado: 02-12-19
I've listened and or read most of the Jack Ryan series, pre and post Tom. While there were parts of this book that were good, overall I would classify this as not very satisfying, consequently Not My Fav. I rate that because when I really like a book I tend to not want to stop listening or read as the case may be, this one failed on that front. Additionally, the characters in this book, especially the FBI team were not very well developed, and don't get me started on Jack's supposedly new love interest towards the end.
A little disappointing, but I will try again as I like the series.

A really good listen, one of my favorites!
Revisado: 08-28-18
This is my fourth book by this author in the Bob Lee story line and it is my absolute favorite. I enjoyed the story telling that wove between the past and the present, between one story line and then another, blending them into one enjoyable listen. My hats off to the narrator, great job. I'll wait awhile until I do the next book in the series, want to remember this one for a while.

Don't Recommend, Thats All I Can Say
Revisado: 03-04-18
Out of a couple hundred Audio Books I have enjoyed there are only three that I couldn't finish and never got to a point of enjoyment. Unfortunately this book is number three on that list. I'm sure it is me, but the delivery of the book was like a man on speed, I never was drawn into the story, the delivery was choppy and ultimately after about three hours of the book I just gave up. Like I said this is only the third I've never been able to finish. On one of the two others I bought the book and read it myself and enjoyed it, the second I never bothered with. This one I might get the paperback and give it a go since I like this genre of books, but I can't recommend this audiobook.

Started This Series From An Audible Special
Revisado: 11-10-17
As I indicated, I started this series because it was part of one of the Audible specials. I've read other DeMille work and enjoyed it so I said what the heck. So glad I did, enjoyed this book cover to cover so to speak, even if there was no cover. Scott did a great job with it and I enjoy the many characters he develops through his linguistic changes. I like a little history thrown into a book, seems to me it makes it seem more realistic, even though I know it is fiction. Good listen, onto book 2.

Very simple review, my favorite John Sanford, Lucas Davenport book so far. Unfortunately at this point there is only one more to go, but that aside, I enjoyed that this was divergent from the cast of normal characters, although they were still in there, he managed to bring in a lot of other people and I liked how it added to the chemistry of the story. He didn't go into great depth for each person, but I was able to ascertain who they were and how they blended into the story. Good book.

Historia
John Perry did two things on his 75th birthday. First he visited his wife's grave. Then he joined the army. The good news is that humanity finally made it into interstellar space. The bad news is that planets fit to live on are scarce—and alien races willing to fight us for them are common. So: we fight. To defend Earth, and to stake our own claim to planetary real estate. Far from Earth, the war has been going on for decades: brutal, bloody, unyielding. Earth itself is a backwater.

My daughter bought this book for me for my birthday because she likes to introduce me to new authors and story lines. I enjoyed the story line, albeit extremely futuristic, the characters were developed well and the narration kept me engaged the whole time. Not a real Syfy nut, I'm more of the shoot detective or assassin reader, this one had a little of both and made me want to know what happens next.
I would recommend. The best I can say is I bought the next book.

A former Delta Force commander, Brad Taylor proves with this breathtaking debut thriller that Vince Flynn and Brad Thor have company. A collection of top operatives, the Taskforce was commissioned by the highest levels of government, kept secret from the media and even Congress. The best of the Taskforce bunch, Pike Logan knows the greatest threat to American security is one or two idealogues. Unfortunately for them, they’ve just crossed Pike’s path.

Two lonely towns in Colorado: Hope and Despair. Between them, 12 miles of empty road. Jack Reacher never turns back. It's not in his nature. All he wants is a cup of coffee. What he gets is big trouble. So in Lee Child’s electrifying new novel, Reacher - a man with no fear, no illusions, and nothing to lose - goes to war against a town that not only wants him gone, it wants him dead. It wasn’t the welcome Reacher expected. He was just passing through, minding his own business. But within minutes of his arrival a deputy is in the hospital and Reacher is back in Hope.

Not my favorite, I have listened to series in order, this one wasn't as engaging as the other 12 I've already either read or listened to. Story line about a town named Despair and the horrible things going on there were a little out there for a Jack Reacher book. Strange is all I can say.

Historia
Sifting through reams of seemingly unrelated intelligence, CIA analyst Katherine Rule discovers a chilling pattern: an ultrasecret Baltic submarine base...a crafty Russian spy-master in command...a carefully planned invasion about to be launched from dark waters. Her suspicions, however, are dismissed by those higher up; her theory, they say, is too crazy to be true. But to Katherine, it’s just crazy enough to succeed - unless she can stop it. If she’s right, an attack sub has already penetrated friendly waters.

Not my favorite of the three Will Lee books I've listened to, however it adds the depth to the future books I'm sure the series needs. Looking forward to the next in the series, I like Stone, but I think I prefer this series.
