Descriptive sex and child mutilation? nty

This book was difficult to continue staying interested in, but as I received a review copy, I slogged on. My girlfriend happened to be present during the sex scene that was quite unnecessarily described in detail, then just after that, there's a description of mutilated children that have implants and weapons integrated into their bodies. That's the point I couldn't take more.

The reader is quite good though.

Great story with mostly likable characters

This is a very compelling story that I mostly enjoyed, but in honesty, I absolutely hate the main character, Whitney. The supporting characters were great, I really liked the paladin and mage. I would gladly read a book with both of them, but never again the thief.

Also, the narrator is very good with a great range of male voices, but his attempts at female voices are a joke.

Finally, I don't know if it is the author or the narrator, but there is a big difference between further and farther. The narrator uses that interchangeably which is not correct use of grammar.

A great introduction to a second language

I grew up speaking Spanish as a second language but have gotten rusty with a couple years of disuse. This title has helped me maintain my skills and I would happily recommend it to someone starting out or maintaining proficiency.

Nightmares picks up where book 1 left off. Runner is a well-developed character that is navigating the future MMO, Otherlife, and changing the world for everyone... one crisis at a time.

The end of this absolutely blew my mind and I was pretty emotional during the epilogue. I'm buying book 3 immediately!

Great variation. I could recognize each character immediately with the amazing voice work by Jeff Hays.

A good story, but borrowed from many sources

The characters were compelling, and sometimes fun, but overall the story borrows character names and concepts from multiple other stories. It was enjoyable to go through the story, but more originality would have been ideal.

What made the experience of listening to Fighting Iron the most enjoyable?

The audio quality and voice work was fantastic.

Who was your favorite character and why?

I can't think of the name, but Jake's mech has an AI personality. That's my fav. Kinda like a kid with a Gatling Gun, pretty funny and cute.

Which character – as performed by J. Scott Bennett – was your favorite?

The mech AI.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

There were a couple unexpected moments that made me chuckle, absolutely.

This is definitely a great story, much alike all of Jake's stories. Stop reading my review and start listening!

A very intelligent story

What made the experience of listening to For Every Action the most enjoyable?

The voice acting is great, the effects are perfect. :)

Who was your favorite character and why?

Jacob, he's very diverse, handles situations pretty interestingly.

What does Judy Rounda bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Different ways to express the characters.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

The scene on the bridge near the beginning. I actually stopped jogging and nearly got hit by the guy behind me!

Great book overall, stands out in my mind. Would like to read more by Jason Faris.

A Great Short Story Foreshadowing Corporate Future

Would you listen to Good Morning... Processes Must Be Improved again? Why?

In a few years, sure. It's a quick book at around an hour, but it's pretty cute.

What did you like best about this story?

The dichotomy between the human and the computer is pretty darn funny. Analyzing our emotional human responses in a logical manner is quite amusing.

What does Christopher M. Allport bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Honestly, Allport's voice work and editing really doesn't impress me.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

Yeah, it's the future, and no, things haven't changed.

What an interesting concept for a short story

allowing yourself to think objectively is such an amazing trait for a storyteller. the author really captures and out-of-the-box concept that could be developed into something even greater later on. definitely worth the time to read this
