Historia
Washington, DC, 1950. Everyone keeps to themselves at Briarwood House, a down-at-the-heels all-female boardinghouse in the heart of the nation’s capital where secrets hide behind white picket fences. But when the lovely, mysterious widow Grace March moves into the attic room, she draws her oddball collection of neighbors into unlikely friendship. Grace’s weekly attic-room dinner parties and window-brewed sun tea become a healing balm on all their lives, but she hides a terrible secret of her own.

Historia
Nesta Archeron has always been prickly-proud, swift to anger, and slow to forgive. And ever since being forced into the Cauldron and becoming High Fae against her will, she's struggled to find a place for herself within the strange, deadly world she inhabits. Against the sweeping backdrop of a world seared by war and plagued with uncertainty, Nesta and Cassian battle monsters from within and without as they search for acceptance - and healing - in each other's arms.

Probably the worst narrator so far
Revisado: 10-28-24
I almost had to stop listening, all of the girls are so breathy and none of the characters have their original personalities. Everyone sounds wispy and sexual. It's annoying... Haha when she is reading the story normally it's fine, but the character voices are rough... Also the story line is way more sexual than any of the other ones, almost like it's being used as filler.

Historia
Ryland Grace is the sole survivor on a desperate, last-chance mission - and if he fails, humanity and the Earth itself will perish. Except that right now, he doesn't know that. He can't even remember his own name, let alone the nature of his assignment or how to complete it. All he knows is that he's been asleep for a very, very long time. And he's just been awakened to find himself millions of miles from home, with nothing but two corpses for company.

Historia
Can’t Hurt Me, David Goggins’ smash hit memoir, demonstrated how much untapped ability we all have but was merely an introduction to the power of the mind. In Never Finished, Goggins takes you inside his Mental Lab, where he developed the philosophy, psychology, and strategies that enabled him to learn that what he thought was his limit was only his beginning and that the quest for greatness is unending.

Hard to get into it until you hear the podcast
Revisado: 01-31-23
Hearing Adam read doesn't feel like the right vibe of the book until after the podcast. Also it's pretty intense all around, also learning that is just David Goggins in general... Haha, but there are for sure some really good pieces of motivation and worth the listen

Repetitive filler
Revisado: 12-19-22
I'm invested in the story, but it was a struggle to get through. About fifty percent of this book was repetitive filler. Made the same points over and over and over with multiple people and situations. I hope the next book takes more time and it is closer to the first book. The story line has also lost a lot of charm that the first books shared.

Sooooo much ranking up narrative... It was honestly too much. It didn't allow me to get into the story as much as I would have liked.

Might be better with a different reader, but how she chops up the material is distracting and hard to focus on as you are trying to relax.

Hooked from the start!
Revisado: 07-29-15
I wasn't able to stop listening! I caught myself sitting in my car for at least an extra ten min any time I went somewhere. I can't wait to start book 2 tomorrow! The only negative part about this book was that the narrator's switched and it messed with the flow of the book. There was one in particular somewhere in the 40's (audio chapters, not book chapters) that was absolutely terrible. It pissed me off the entire chapter and sounded nothing like the other narrators. If he would have been the main narrator, I would have missed out on this adventurous story, because I never would have made it through more than one chapter. I even paused it, jumped to the next chapter to make sure he didn't read anymore, then went back.... Otherwise the main narrator was great and the story kept me constantly entertained!
