Historia
Dr. Tyson Klein is a quantum physicist who has dedicated his entire life to his research. At CERN, he analyses data generated by the Large Hadron Collider, the world's biggest and most powerful particle accelerator. Now, Ty believes he's found a pattern in its output. It looks like an organised data stream, being broadcast over what he calls a quantum radio. Could it be a signal from another universe? A message sent from the future? Or something else entirely?

I think it’s more for teenagers than adults
Revisado: 10-28-23
I loved all the research that went into writing this book and appreciate the author’s breadth and depth of knowledge. However, the really inspiring points he has to make are lost in the fantastical directions in which the story takes itself that require much more suspension of disbelief than I feel comfortable with. I’m more suddenly written story, making the same points could’ve been a true classic.

There are special forces. There are US Navy SEALs. There is the select and secretive group of highly trained operators known as SEAL Team Six or MOB VI as they like to call it. And then there is Justin Sheffield. When it comes to talking about the most experienced, effective, and deadly warriors in the world, Sheffield is part of an exclusive group that can be counted on one hand. This audiobook is uncompromising, raw, violent, and real.

What a scum bag!
Revisado: 05-27-23
This bible quoting guy gets high on killing “bugger-eaters”, “savages”, and “animals”, leads the group in prayer before they “get to” go out and kill, and drops plenty of curse words between his constant bragging. A narcissist about as emotionally developed as the dog’s on the team, he makes the exact opposite impression that the other autobiographies I read of about SEAL team 6 and a Delta Force soldier did.

Everyone should read this book!
Revisado: 04-22-23
Beyond the inspiring and entertaining aspects, the stories here show the character of people, from soldier to president, and exemplify why we need the good and how the bad threatens everyone. Good character saved lives and often without needing to kill. Bad character, in top leadership and implementation, prevented hostages from being rescued in Iran and POW’s in Vietnam. Thank goodness for everyone who chose doing what’s right over self promotion.

Historia
A wonderful tale of a young man’s coming of age, Zorba the Greek has been a classic of world literature since it was first translated into English in 1952 and made into an unforgettable movie with Anthony Quinn. Zorba, an irrepressible, earthy hedonist, sweeps his young disciple along as he wines, dines, and loves his way through a life dedicated to fulfilling his copious appetites. Zorba is irresistible in this charming audio production by veteran narrator George Guidall.

Historia
Why do "Great Books" continue to speak to us hundreds and even thousands of years after they were written? Can they deepen our self-knowledge and wisdom? Are our lives changed in any meaningful way by the experience of reading them?Tackle these questions and more in these 36 engaging lectures. Beginning with his definition of a Great Book as one that possesses a great theme of enduring importance, noble language that "elevates the soul and ennobles the mind," and a universality that enables it to "speak across the ages," Professor Fears examines a body of work that offers extraordinary wisdom to those willing to receive it.

Little content, lots of preaching
Revisado: 02-04-23
I appreciate being exposed to new works, but he often tells little of the content of the book… I think 2 lines from there entire Koran in that chapter… and most of his effort is spent preaching his particular world view using vague references to the books content. Further, if you do already know much about his selections you may find yourself arguing that he has neglected contrary facts to support his interpretations.

Historia
Science is how we understand the world. Yet failures in peer review and mistakes in statistics have rendered a shocking number of scientific studies useless—or, worse, badly misleading. Such errors have distorted our knowledge in fields as wide-ranging as medicine, physics, nutrition, education, genetics, economics, and the search for extraterrestrial life. As Science Fictions makes clear, the current system of research funding and publication not only fails to safeguard us from blunders but actively encourages bad science—with sometimes deadly consequences.

Horrible and disgusting
Revisado: 08-09-22
As the author said, most people learn thier history from historical fiction...so why create a non historical character and spend the beginning of the book describing her graphic gang rape and the mutilation of her hands?

It was a time of crisis, a time of tragedy - and a time of transcendent courage and determination. Leon Uris’s blazing novel is set in the midst of the ghetto uprising that defied Nazi tyranny, as the Jews of Warsaw boldly met Wehrmacht tanks with homemade weapons and bare fists. Here, painted on a canvas as broad as its subject matter, is the compelling story of one of the most heroic struggles of modern times.

Read on the recommendation from a friend I was heartbroken through much of the book and truly inspired by the end. As well, made much more aware of the historical experiences of the Jewish people through the centuries just by the full engagingly written storyline and its development of characters.

Tangential and inconsequential
Revisado: 07-19-20
It felt like reading a book where the story had all been inked out and you were left with nothing but footnotes. One long tangential vomit of information, by an author who seems to have no sense of responsibility to put together a cohesive narrative or even tell the stories and which his side notes are based.
