Book three of this series is quite exciting. In spite of the many characters to keep track of, the author is able to create the tension needed to become emotionally invested in all of them.

Exciting Ride!

Yarrow delivers another exiting installment in the Empyrean Series with book 3. The characters are becoming more developed, the plot more complex, and the tension more absorbing. I can’t wait for books 4 & 5! Oh, and by the way, I want a dragon now!

Well, that was unexpected!

I have been on the brooch journey since it began, and I’ve enjoyed the evolution of the family. This story had some surprising twists that added a whole new dimension to the storyline which opens the characters to a lot of different possibilities. I was hoping for some sort of cliffhanger at the end of this one though; especially with the new revelations set forth in this novel. Instead, it was slow, easy…and expected. The family has gotten so big, that to mention all of them over the course of the book does get confusing. Good story, but these are treasons for the four star review.

I have only one complaint… it didn’t last longer. The characters are endearing, the story compelling, and the voice captivating. I loved it! Can’t wait for the next book!

More Story, Please

I really love the story and the whole mythology behind it, but I find
the excessively long sex scenes a bother. They really do detract from the story. The author really has done a wonderful job creating this fantasy world with engaging characters and interesting plot twist. I just wish there was a little less “thrusting” and a little more….. Let the reader’s imagination do a little more work.

I truly enjoy this series! It is refreshing to have an adult heroine who has moral standards and is full of such love and kindness. I can’t wait for book nine.

Sometimes less is more

The storyline is okay, but seems uneventful. Yes, there are pirates and shipwrecks, but it moved slowly. I think that there is too much detail and description and it slows the pacing so much that it seems dull in parts. Like I said, it is an okay read, and I’m not turned off from the series, but if there are too many more of these, I might be.
