Reader is Fire Marshall Bill??
Revisado: 04-05-25
Very disappointing performance in a Mitch Rapp novel. In no world do people talk like this reader reads them. I thought the last reader was bad in the previous Rapp book, but this guy takes the cake. It sounds like you’re listening to Jim Carey as Fire Marshall Bill the whole book, esp when reading the president’s character. Rapp didn’t do anything but argue with his lady until chapter 20. Super disappointing. Prob better if I read it instead of listening. Already looked ahead… At least George Guidall reads the next couple…

Awful reader…Decent Mitch Rapp story
Revisado: 03-19-25
The story was great as usual… Mitch rap figures out how to save the day despite the idiocy around him. But the reader for this story was absolutely awful. Every character had either a homosexual or Forrest Gump accent….

Historia
The first in-depth look at Lance Armstrong's doping scandal, the phenomenal business success built on the back of fraud, and the greatest conspiracy in the history of sports. Lance Armstrong won a record-smashing seven Tours de France after staring down cancer, and in the process became an international symbol of resilience and courage. In a sport constantly dogged by blood-doping scandals, he seemed above the fray. Then, in January 2013, the legend imploded. He admitted doping during the Tours and, in an interview with Oprah, described his "mythic, perfect story" as "one big lie."

From a Lance fan…
Revisado: 07-31-24
I went into this listen as a big fan of Lance, and that didn’t change for me after. The book gave great details about the ins and outs of cycling at the highest level, but there were many times I found the author in a judgmental mindset. The sarcasm of the writing sometimes seemed out of place. It made a hero out of USADA but didn’t really provide proof that Lance’s claims that his doping was to keep up with the competition as false. It still seems to me and maybe most fans of Lance that doping was so prevalent that it was the only way to compete. I would suggest checking out the ESPN doc on Lance for the latest details…

Another solid Widow story…
Revisado: 07-09-24
I have enjoyed all of the Widow books so far. Some seem to end a little abruptly, in a way that could seem unbelievable, but that’s kind of the idea isn’t it? Suspend disbelief while you sit in DC traffic…

More X... less supporting characters
Revisado: 05-23-24
I really like the Orphan X series, have listened to all of them. The past 3 books or so have increasingly added too much of the other characters. Would really like to see more of X and less of the others. Found myself using the 30-second skip a bunch during this one. Hope it doesn't stay that way... feel like the character has lost his way a little

Historia
Buried within the black ops budgets of the Department of Defense, a new spy agency has been created. Unfettered by the oversight of self-serving politicians, it reports only to a secret panel of military insiders. Its job is to target Americas enemies - both foreign and domestic - under a charter of three simple words: Find, Fix, and Finish.

Bad…. Just bad
Revisado: 01-10-24
First of all, the voice for Scott Harvath is AWFUL. This whispery, phlegmy voice that always sounds like he need to clear his throat or cough. I enjoy the narration of the book and other characters, but the main character being so bad is distracting throughout, especially when he gets upset. Second, the feministic part of the Anthem team was too much. Everything they did was “exceptional”, “perfect” or “incredibly well-trained”, descriptions you’d never apply or say about a men’s team. Just a bad book overall, couldn’t wait to finish and move on…

Mitch Rapp hates owing anyone a favor—especially when it’s the world’s most powerful crime lord. But when Damian Losa calls, Mitch is honor bound to answer. The Syrian government has created a highly addictive new narcotic that it plans to distribute throughout Europe. It’s a major threat to Losa’s business and he’s determined to stop it by any means necessary. Rapp is the perfect choice for the mission. Not only does he have extensive experience operating in the Middle East, but he’s also entirely expendable.

Did Thor Write This One?
Revisado: 11-29-23
I like Scott Harvath. This book was just strange. The secret service agent going off books doing her own investigation of the president was crazy and didn’t have anything to do with Scott Harvath at all. It’s almost like Thor wrote the Scott Harvath portion of the book and someone else wrote the Secret Service agent Campbell portion of the book and then they combined them. And I know this is late but, why change readers away from George Guidall?? I hate the voice that is used for Scot Harvath, this whispery voice that can never yell. Just very disappointed with this one…
