complete disregard of women's rights

This book was set in modern times, but the characters functioned as if they were pre women's rights. The male completely disregarded the female's wishes in every way. He contacted her biological father, when she specifically said no. He hired movers and moved her out of her apartment and into his apartment without even asking her. Other things that NO ONE would put up with. She got a little mad, but oh, she loves him.
Her relationship with her "best friends" was not good. Those "friends" were abusive. I sincerely hope this author doesn't really have friends like these. There were no healthy relationships in this book.

Once again, a performance instead of a reading.

If I wanted a performance, I would watch TV. I love books. I love the words. I don't want a performance! The back ground sounds are just irritating! You, Audible, stop trying force a performance on us! I couldn't finish this performance, because I wanted to listen to a BOOK! I eyes are going bad. I want a book, not a performance!

Quite a different story from Kristan Higgins normal storyline.

This was an indepth look at death, dying and bereavement. The story of the bereaved husband moved forward after the loss of his wife. Her story moved backward from the time of her death. Between the 2 storylines, you get the full story. Their love story, his grief, and her story of illness. Above all, it is a story of their love.

At best, it was boring.

The narrator was awful. She completely ignored the letter "T" or pronounced it as "D". The main character's name was Peyton. She pronounced it as "Peyun". Ther was more, but you can get the idea. I am Texan, so I'm not usually picky about pronuciation, but thus was bad.

One of the worst narrators

This narrator was almost as bad as Virtual Voice. A mix of monotone and emphasizing the wrong words.

Book or performance?

Why is it that Audible believes that book lovers want a performance? If I wanted a performance, I would turn on my TV. I would go to a movie or see a play. I want a book read to me. I can tolerate actors reading the book, but just barely. I want a book narrated, not performed.

The narraters were good, I don't know about the story. The production was horrible! Why would Audible think that readers want background sounds? If we wanted that, wouldn't we just turn on the TV? Horribly, horribly disappointed!

I honestly can't say if the story was good or bad. The narration was horrendous. It was actually painful. I can usually ignore the narration and dig into the story, but I couldn't finish this.
