A nice read

While this wasn't the best story I've enjoyed it was entertaining. The plot line moved nicely along and the characters were very strong and well thought out. I enjoyed listening to the narrator. She was clear and concise and read each character well. I didn't find myself rushing to finish this story but I enjoyed listening to it all the way through when I did pick it back up each time. I think it's worth the credit.

Great story, great performance

I love Sherry Hill's writing, she makes her characters complete with real human conditions. This story is filled with romance and anguish. Boy wants girl, gets girl and then decides he doesn't want her. The obstacles they both overcome to understand each other is touching and heart warming. Corrie James does an excellent job narrating this story.

Didn't enjoy the narrator

I'm a huge fan of Valerie Bowman and have read or listened to all of her books. This is a great story but for me personally it was ruined by the narrator. While she is charming and well spoken her cadence was to fast and her voice made the characters sound very young and child like. I couldn't get into the story and had to stop half way through and get the book to read. I enjoyed the plot and story very much, just didn't enjoy the narrator.

I thoroughly enjoyed this story by Sophie Nash. I wasn't familiar with her writing and took a gamble buying this book but it was good fun and a great read. I'm looking forward to more books by this author. The narrator was very good, she spoke very clearly and had many different voices. The plot twist and turns were great and I really want to listen to the other books in this series. Very credit worthy.

Heartbreakingly tender

I loved the fragility of the hero and heroine in this tender story of a forced marriage that turns into friendship and eventually love. The main characters felt very human and their story was told with such tender loving care you couldn't help but root for them. Every character was well fleshed out and given respect and dignity. This was an excellent read and very credit worthy. Jenny Sterlin will whisk you away to another time and place with her soothing voice.

Well done Ms. Thomas, you have a new fan

I enjoyed the story line in this book very much. The author Sherry Thomas takes us on an unexpected journey. How two people could dislike each other more and still end up together is a writing feat worthy of being shared. I thoroughly enjoyed the narrator too. Her ability to do different characters and not read to fast should be applauded. It's difficult in historical romance to change up the boy meets girl and falls in love plot line but Ms. Thomas did it wonderfully.

I couldn't stop listening

I couldn't pull the headphones out of my ears. It was funny, charming, sad and exhilarating. The hero and heroine are so human they could exist today. I liked that the heroine was a strong self sufficent woman and the hero was equal measure of proud and vain. Together they struggle to find happiness together. Can't wait to read another book by Ms. Thomas, I was thoroughly pleased.

Third times a charm?

In this third book by Valerie Bowman we get to see Lord Perfect's story as he finds romance, pursues and then discards it only to eventually make peace with his perfection and throw off his perfect mantle to become human like the rest of us and truly fall in love. It's a nice story but not as much fun as her first two books.

The book starts out as the story of a Duchess accused of murdering her husband and half way through the book when we find out who the real murderer is I felt like the whole thing was swept under the carpet and thrown away leaving me feeling a little let down and abandoned as I wondered where the story would go with so much time left. Then I felt like the story floundered from one step to the next making it feel disjointed and broken. It's eventual outcome came back around but it did feel very choppy.

Overall it's a nice story and I gave it four stars because I enjoyed the first two books so much and this one had many returning characters. I highly recommend reading the first two books before taking this one on. This was not my favorite but I do hope she continues to write more books as I have enjoyed Ms. Bowman's other stories very much. It wasn't a bad book by any means but for me it was just OK.

I want my own Cade

I don't read many books written in the first person so when it first started I was disappointed but that quickly gave way to interest which gave way to heart palpitations. When Stella finds herself engaged and married the Cade MacKennzie she fears he will be like every other man in her life, awful. She dreads being married to someone known as a "brute". Having only known Pain and betrayal at the hands of her father and his men, she fears her new husband and his reputation. The journey the author takes us on is one of a young girl learning that everyone has there faults and virtues as she explores her new marriage and life in the midst of turmoil and upheaval. Very well narrated and so touching you will fall in love with both characters.

Glad I stumbled on this

I enjoyed this story. There were a lot of twists and turns that made it a bit unpredictable. A nice change from the usual love story. It's not as steamy as some love stories so if your not into that you will really enjoy.
