Historia
Frank Herbert's Dune is one of the grandest epics in the annals of imaginative literature. Now Herbert's son, Brian, working with Kevin J. Anderson and using Frank Herbert's own notes, reveals a pivotal epoch in the history of the Dune universe: the Butlerian Jihad, the war that was fought ten thousand years before the events of Dune - the war in which humans wrested their freedom from "thinking machines."

Um, ok
Revisado: 05-18-21
This is the first Brian Herbert novel I have heard so far. I would definitely recommend this one but there is quite a stark difference between father and son's written style.

Wonderful but I must know
Revisado: 12-31-20
It is a wonderful story but I am very curious about the sound of an American doing an English accent is as grating as an English man doing an American accent is in this novel.

Historia
In the first book of this brilliant series, Stephen King introduces listeners to one of his most powerful creations: Roland of Gilead, The Last Gunslinger. He is a haunting figure, a loner on a spellbinding journey into good and evil. In his desolate world, which frighteningly mirrors our own, Roland tracks The Man in Black, encounters an enticing woman named Alice, and begins a friendship with the boy from New York named Jake.

Revisado: 06-18-20
I love this story as much as I love the entire cycle of the Dark Tower. This is Me. Kings George Lucas version of the Gunslingers introduction to us. Nothing to major was changed but still if you can find the unaltered version read it first take the entire journey to the tower and after you reach the top come back and enjoy this version. You will appreciate it much more.

Historia
A vicious 15-year-old droog is the central character of this 1963 classic, a frightening fable about good and evil, and the meaning of human freedom. In Anthony Burgess' nightmare vision of the future, where the criminals take over after dark, the story is told by the central character, Alex, who talks in a brutal invented slang that brilliantly renders his and his friends' social pathology.

While following the deserted I-70 toward a distant glass palace, Roland recounts a story about a seaside town called Hambry, where he fell in love with a girl named Susan Delgado, and where he and his old tet-mates Alain and Cuthbert battled the forces of John Farson.

I have owned this in hardback for years...
Revisado: 02-04-20
Ok let me admit that I have owned this tale for years, I actually own the entire series in hardback, and I have never been able to finish it. The first three tales in the series were surreal and action packed with a totally unique style that mixed real world and fantasy in a amazing way that only King could bring us. The first third of Wizard and Glass picks up right after Wastelands and throws you into a thrilling moment and then slaps you with the affirmation that the theory many readers had of the connected King universe was correct. But, the next third of the book changes into a back story of Roland's first adventure as a tragic gunslinger. That was where he lost me due to the book coming to a grinding halt to introduce a totally new cast of characters. This was my loss because if I had pushed through I would have been given one of the best story's in the Dark Tower Cycle.
The narrator has the emotion and passionate ability to grab you and throw you into an amazing tale you would be a fool to miss.

Andy McGee and Vicky Tomlinson participated in a drug experiment run by a veiled government agency known as The Shop. One year later, they marry. Two years later, their little girl, Charlie, sets her teddy bear on fire by simply staring at it. Now that Charlie is eight, she doesn't start fires anymore. Her parents have taught her to control her pyrokinesis, the ability to set anything - toys, clothes, even people - aflame. But The Shop knows about and wants this pigtailed "ultimate weapon".

Wonderful story and could this be part 1 to....
Revisado: 02-04-20
This is a classic King novel. This is an amazing story from young Stephen King that gives us a glimpse of what we would expect in today's works. This tale could also be part 1 to The Institute. It would be wonderful if we saw the King children getting together to fight off whatever evil is affecting the multiverse.
