Historia
From a New York Times investigative reporter, this “authoritative and devastating account of the impacts of social media” (New York Times Book Review) tracks the high-stakes inside story of how Big Tech’s breakneck race to drive engagement—and profits—at all costs fractured the world, and is “an essential book for our times” (Ezra Klein).

Insidious Trump bashing rubbish. If you're a Tesla burning, MS-13 sympathizer, and boys in girls sports kinda tree hugger--you'll be giddy listening behind the wheel of your Subaru wagon on the way to the AOC rally.

The Real Anthony Fauci details how Fauci, Gates, and their cohorts use their control of media outlets, scientific journals, key government and quasi-governmental agencies, global intelligence agencies, and influential scientists and physicians to flood the public with fearful propaganda about COVID-19 virulence and pathogenesis, and to muzzle debate and ruthlessly censor dissent.

Your government LIES to you, believe it.
Revisado: 04-24-24
I just finished this very eye opening book. It will make you 😡 MAD🤬! I certainly don't agree with most of RFK Jr.'s politics and I'm an RN and not an "anti-vaxxer" but this book is a well researched and a well documented exposé on just how much your government lies to you and how deep they're in bed with big drug companies. it's not political in the sense that he calls out the left and the right equally in the corruption. (He does NOT narrate it, thank God!)

JG didn't even proofread this book, much less write it.
Revisado: 01-12-24
I was so excited to listen to the sequel to The Firm that I went back and relistened to it first. My bad, that just made it clear what a terrible disservice this book is to it's predessesor.
Let's be clear, a Caymen Island cookbook with a random recipe for Memphis BBQ submitted by a some law clerks felonious nephew has more in common with The Firm than the entirety of this book. It's not a spoiler to speak to the second chapter, right? So the book opens up with Mitch as a LAWYER again for no explainable reason other than he applied for it on a whim in London. (Forget that he said he never really wanted to be a lawyer anyway). Then, for one chapter he travels to Memphis then he goes full-speed a lousy Jack Reacher.
I tried to imagine this book as a stand alone, without the hype from a debut author and rethink the review...meh, I'd give it 3 ⭐.
But....BUT...if you want to relive the magic and suspense of the original classic, go make some Caribbean ribs.

love Love LOVE this book
Revisado: 04-06-23
Bennett, the heroine, is my new favorite character of any novel I've read in a LONG time. She powerful, brave, seductive, innocent and still vulnerable. This book was recommended to me by an romance author friend who said it was her favorite sexy romance novel. I live in Charleston and some of the book takes place here so I had to give it a shot. I'm SO glad I did. This story has it all from action and adventure to mystery and lots of steamy sex! I am definitely on board for the next voyage from Pam Goodwin!

Once upon a time, Emily was part of a middle school clique called the Harpies—six popular girls who bullied the new girl to her breaking point. The Harpies took a blood oath: never tell a soul what they did to Grace Farmer. Now, fourteen years later, it seems karma has caught up to them when one member of that vicious circle commits suicide.

Narration concerns
Revisado: 12-02-22
When you read all of the reviews regarding the terrible narration, believe them. It's definitely the WRONG voice for this book. However, she is a GOOD narrator AND the book is really GOOD. Your will get used to it. Don't get hung up on the fact that Casey's voice should be different. One review said to just go with the alcoholic's raspy voice (Casey is an alcoholic) and that worked for me. Don't pass this book up just because some boneheaded producer was also drunk when he our she chose this narrator.

Historia
For most of the last hundred years, Biloxi was known for its beaches, resorts, and seafood industry. But it had a darker side. It was also notorious for corruption and vice, everything from gambling, prostitution, bootleg liquor, and drugs to contract killings. The vice was controlled by small cabal of mobsters, many of them rumored to be members of the Dixie Mafia.

On his last combat deployment, Lt. Cmdr. James Reece's entire team was killed in an ambush that also claimed the lives of the aircrew sent in to rescue them.
