Historia
In Jesus and the Jewish Roots of Mary, Dr. Pitre takes listeners step-by-step from the Garden of Eden to the Book of Revelation to reveal how deeply biblical Catholic beliefs about Mary really are. Dr. Pitre uses the Old Testament and ancient Judaism to unlock how the Bible itself teaches that Mary is in fact the new Eve, the Mother of God, the Queen of Heaven and Earth, and the new Ark of the Covenant.

Biblical Exegesis with Sound Hermeneutics
Revisado: 07-27-24
Christians believe that Jesus Christ is the fulfilment of the hopes of Israel conveyed in (what we call) the Old Testament. Pitre makes a compelling case for the Orthodox & Catholic Christian belief that the Blessed Virgin Mary, the Theotokos, is the Sign and Most Perfect Recipient of that fulfilment in Christ, prefigured in the Faith of the ancient People of God.

Historia
What does the cross of Christ have to do with the thunderbird? How might the life and work of Christian writer G. K. Chesterton shed light on our understanding of North American Indigenous art and history? This unexpected connection forms the basis of these discerning reflections by art historian Matthew Milliner. In this fifth volume in the Hansen Lectureship Series, Milliner appeals to Chesterton's life and work in order to understand and appreciate both Indigenous art and the complex, often tragic history of First Nations peoples, especially in the American Midwest.

Recommended to me by colleague-friends, this book is the first step toward a cohesive expansion of GK Chesterton’s physical philosophical anthropology into First Nations/Indigenous lcultural studies.

Historia
Often called the "Father of Church History", Eusebius was the first to trace the rise of Christianity during its crucial first three centuries from Christ to Constantine. Our principal resource for earliest Chrisitianity, The Church History presents a panorama of apostles, church fathers, emperors, bishops, heroes, heretics, confessors, and martyrs. This audiobook edition includes Paul L. Maier's clear and precise translation, historical commentary on each book in The Church History, and numerous maps, illustrations, and photographs.

An good introduction to Eusebius’ works
Revisado: 07-23-21
However, both the translation of the work itself and the Narrator’s pronunciation of some common names (which would be familiar to any with an introductory understanding of early Christianity, or a cursory knowledge of the early Roman Empire) leave much to be desired.
