Historia
For generations, everything has been getting faster, better, and cheaper. Finally, we reached the point that almost anything you could ever want could be sent to your home within days - even hours - of when you decided you wanted it. America made that happen, but now America has lost interest in keeping it going.

Historia
The frontiersmen were a remarkable breed of men. They were often rough and illiterate, sometimes brutal and vicious, often seeking an escape in the wilderness of mid-America from crimes committed back east. In the beautiful but deadly country which would one day come to be known as West Virginia, Kentucky, Michigan, Ohio, Indiana, and Illinois, more often than not they left their bones to bleach beside forest paths or on the banks of the Ohio River.

Historia
This small book indeed tells a big story. It is the story of capitalism–of how our market system developed. It is the story of the discipline of economics, and some of the key figures who formed it. And it is the story of how economic forces have shaped world history. Why didn’t Africa colonize Europe instead of the other way around? What happened when countries erected trade and immigration barriers in the 1930s? Why did the Allies win World War II? You’ll find answers to these questions and more in How Economics Explains the World.

Great overview is you want a broad survey
Revisado: 01-06-25
Good examples in general. Interesting overall. Doesn’t spend much time on modern monetary ramifications. No major revelations. Too much climate change. If you think you know quite a bit about economics you can skip this book.

Historia
A soldier, former member of Congress, and a presidential candidate, Tulsi loves her country: "I answered the call of duty and took an oath, dedicating my life to supporting and defending those freedoms, both in uniform and in public office. I became a Democrat when I ran for office because I saw them as a party that stood up for the little guy and against the interests of big business and warmongers. I remained a Democrat for twenty years, albeit with an independent streak." Today that party is unrecognizable.

Clearly and simply lays out what’s wrong on the extreme left/right and how we can return to the original civil rights movement to move forward as all Americans.

Twenty years ago, Joel Salatin wrote You Can Farm, which has launched thousands of farm entrepreneurs around the world. With another 20 years of experience under his belt, bringing him to the half-century mark as a full-time farmer, he decided to build on that foundation with a sequel, a graduate level curriculum.

Fantastic but read(listen) to Joel’s predecessor book “You can farm first”
Revisado: 07-08-21
So great to see the ideas in “You can farm” be added to and built on. Great content but read the first book first.
Hard truths in here that you will find in few other places. Joel has a solid logical and ethical approach to all aspects of farm life and then illustrates with understandable examples.

Historia
Have you ever desired, deep within your soul, to make a comfortable full-time living from a farming enterprise? Too often people dare not even vocalize this desire because it seems absurd. It's like thinking the unthinkable. After all, the farm population is dwindling. It takes too much capital to start. The pay is too low. The working conditions are dusty, smelly and noisy: Not the place to raise a family. This is all true, and more, for most farmers.

The best.
Revisado: 07-04-21
Every want-to-be farmer or struggling-to-make-ends-meet farmer should read this book. The game has changed and Joel gives you the recipe to make a white collar salary farming (hint: it has nothing to to with ‘conventional agriculture’).
Reading now in 2021 this book is as relevant as when it was written in the late 90’s. Joel’s foresight is proved out and the trends pushing profitable farming in this direction have only strengthened.

Historia
Captain Keyes is loved by the public but hated by Command. He captains the UHS Providence, an aging supercarrier and the last human ship not dependent on dark tech - technology humanity has used to rule over the galaxy since barely defeating the Ixa in the First Galactic War. Dominance has come at a cost. Over the decades, old allies have grown resentful, and when dark tech itself fails, Captain Keyes’ predictions start coming true: those old allies are now enemies.

Total garbage
Revisado: 01-29-21
At the time of writing this review I can’t recall worse science fiction. Characters are extremely melodramatic and the plot twist are jarring without being interesting.
Space battles sections are numerous and long (which normally I like) but don’t seem to adhere to a consistent set of premises (ie if guarding a wormhole is so effective you can stop a fleet 10x your size... why not do it every time instead of once in the first book in the series?).
Space travel is long and incoherent, for example sometimes they can travel to another system on normal engines despite vast distances but getting from one planet to another in the same system takes a long time?... how is there a pirate alley that spreads manny systems that people travel to often....like the largest corporation in the galaxy has their headquarters there.
I listened to all three books hoping for something cool with the final confrontation...I wish I never listened to any of it.
Acting may be good but it’s hard to tell when you have such poor dialogue.
