Historia
One last laugh for the summer as it winds down. One last prank just to scare a friend. Bringing a mannequin into a theater is just some harmless fun, right? Until it wakes up. Until is starts killing. Luckily, Sawyer has a plan. He'll be a hero. He'll save everyone to the best of his ability. He'll kill as many people as he needs to so he can save the day. That's the thing about heroes - sometimes you have to become a monster first.

Sad that it ended
Revisado: 03-12-21
I was sad that it ended because I realized that was 3 hours of my life I would not get back. The plot of this is just so silly. I really tried to like this book but I just could not care any less about any of the characters. I hated the main character, and not because of what he does. I just hated him because he is an idiot. It feels like a goosebumps ripoff you would find at the dollar store.

Unnecessary
Revisado: 01-04-21
I am not sure why Ernest Cline felt like Ready Player One needed a sequel, but here we are. It felt pretty rushed for the first 2-3 hours, and nothing really happens until right around the 4 hour mark. After it picks up, there are some exciting parts. But even those parts are rushed through. There is a lot of build up to big battles, then they are over before you know it. Wil Wheaton did alright, but something was off with the voices. I can't really place my finger on it, but the characters sound different than the first novel. Maybe it is more of the writing style than the voice acting? Either way, it was disappointing. I will be returning it.

Historia
Deep down here by the dark water lived old Gollum, a small slimy creature. I don’t know where he came from, nor who or what he was. He was Gollum—as dark as darkness, except for two big round pale eyes in his thin face. He had a little boat, and he rowed about quite quietly on the lake; for lake it was, wide and deep and deadly cold.

Revisado: 12-24-20
I would donate a kidney for Andy Serkis to narrate the LOTR trilogy. I cannot stand the Rob Inglis version as his characters always sound so chipper, no matter what is happening. Please audible, make this happen.

Historia
Roland Deschain and his ka-tet are bearing southeast through the forests of Mid-World, the almost timeless landscape that seems to stretch from the wreckage of civility that defined Roland's youth to the crimson chaos that seems the future's only promise. Followers of Stephen King's epic series know Roland well, or as well as this enigmatic hero can be known. They also know the companions who have been drawn to his quest for the Dark Tower: Eddie Dean and his wife, Susannah; Jake Chambers; and Oy.

George Guidall isn't Frank Muller, and that's OK
Revisado: 01-27-20
My personal favorite of the series. Love the story, the town, the people, and the build up to the climax. Calla Bryn Sturgis is somewhere I would want to live, aside from the kidnappings every few years. Also introduces(re-introduces?) one of my favorite characters, Father Callahan. I absolutely loved his backstory. Addressing the narration, many people complain because they are comparing Frank Muller to George Guidall. I would agree that Frank Muller was the absolute best narrator that the Dark Tower series could have had. It would have been great to see him complete the narration for all the books in the series. However, George Guidall does a fine job with what he is given. At the beginning of the book it will be hard to like him from being used to Frank Muller. But I ended up loving his narration almost as much as Frank Muller by the end. I am glad George Guidall narrated the remaining books in Frank’s unexpected absence. I cannot see any other narrator doing as good of a job.

Join the Army and See the Universe. That is the motto of The Third Space War, also known as The First Interstellar War, but most commonly as The Bug War. In one of Robert Heinlein's most controversial best sellers, a recruit of the future goes through the toughest boot camp in the universe - and into battle with the Terrain Mobile Infantry against mankind's most alarming enemy.

Great book that deserves better
Revisado: 09-19-19
The story is great. One of my favorite Heinlein books. But the narrator for this has no emotion at all. And the editing is extremely annoying. Every 5 minutes or so the narrators voice volume will change due to an editing issue. His voice gets quieter and sounds muffled when this happens.

Historia
Ancient Egyptian civilization is so grand our minds sometimes have difficulty adjusting to it. It lasted 3,000 years, longer than any other on the planet. Its Great Pyramid of Cheops was the tallest building in the world until well into the 19th century and remains the only Ancient Wonder still standing. And it was the most technologically advanced of the ancient civilizations, with the medical knowledge that made Egyptian physicians the most famous in the world.

The history of Egypt is really an amazing subject. This is from someone who was only mildly interested in the subject prior to this book. I highly recommend this. I have read a few great courses books in the past but this is by far the best of them that I have listened to.

Historia
In the first book of this brilliant series, Stephen King introduces listeners to one of his most powerful creations: Roland of Gilead, The Last Gunslinger. He is a haunting figure, a loner on a spellbinding journey into good and evil. In his desolate world, which frighteningly mirrors our own, Roland tracks The Man in Black, encounters an enticing woman named Alice, and begins a friendship with the boy from New York named Jake.

Confused? Maybe this will help explain a little
Revisado: 05-18-17
**Possible small spoiler for the beginning of the book.**
Fantastic start to a great series! If you are confused at the beginning, just remember this: It starts in the desert, with the gunslinger thinking about when he met a man named Brown, which involves him telling Brown a story of a town that he just passed through. It is basically a story inside of a story. There are more flashbacks later in the book, but the beginning two hours or so is what seems to confuse most people.
George Guidall is really not a bad narrator, but compared to Frank Muller in the next three, he is hard to adjust to.

Historia
Paul Bäumer is just 19 years old when he and his classmates enlist. They are Germany’s Iron Youth who enter the war with high ideals and leave it disillusioned or dead. As Paul struggles with the realities of the man he has become, and the world to which he must return, he is led like a ghost of his former self into the war’s final hours. All Quiet is one of the greatest war novels of all time, an eloquent expression of the futility, hopelessness and irreparable losses of war.

A horribly amazing book brought to life by an amazing narrator. Everyone should read this book once in their life.

Maybe it is just me
Revisado: 11-04-16
I just didn't like the narrator that much... The characters always sound happy no matter what is going on. This really turned me off on the scenes where they are obviously supposed to be sad or angry. It is like, the fellowship goes to pleasantville.

Historia
Eerie, dreamlike, set in a world that is weirdly related to our own, The Gunslinger introduces Roland Deschain of Gilead, of In-World that was, as he pursues his enigmatic antagonist to the mountains that separate the desert from the Western Sea in the first volume of The Dark Tower series. Roland, the last gunslinger, is a solitary figure, perhaps accursed, who with a strange single-mindedness traverses an exhausted, almost timeless landscape of good and evil.

Guidall is no Frank Muller....
Revisado: 08-02-15
George Guidall is good at narrating this book and the last 3, but after you listen to 2, 3, and 4, you will sorely miss Frank Muller's voice.
I think this book is one of the best in the series. It can be a little confusing at first because the way it is written, there is a lot of stories within stories. But if you just keep focused, it won't confuse you.
Keep going, they are all fantastic books.
