I was deeply moved by how Roseanne tackled this story. The trafficking and abuse still so common it is heart wrenching. And the stories of all the hearts involved gives hope for others. Thank you both for the writing and the performance. I adore this duo!

Witty and wonderful

This is a new favourite author to me! I laughed out loud so many times in the listening - the narrator capturing the right intonations to make the witty and dry humour alight just right. A delightful listen , with just the right amount of intrigue and romance. I love how clean it was too, without being bland. A great story! I already can’t wait to start the next one.

Amazing, even funny at times

More than any of Tessa’s other books, this one made me laugh out loud many times. I very much enjoyed the lightness in banter between characters. More of that in the next ones please! In our all-too-serious-world we need reasons to laugh out loud. Thanks for being my driving companion, and bringing great joy.

Love the character development!

The Peasant King had me laughing out loud more than any other book Tessa’s written. I loved the wittiness in it! And as always, I loved the character development woven through biblical historical timelines and people. It always brings scripture, and the people alive during it, so much more to life for me. I always look forward to listening. AND Pilar is my favourite narrator! It is so delightful to listen to her.

I have loved this series, with great character development, true to life people and issues, and lots of little moments that made me smile, cry, and even laugh out loud. A friend recommended I listen to Elizabeth Camden, and I’m so glad I did! And I always enjoy Pilar’s performance. She is a marvel at voices and characters.

I really needed the reminder, like Avidan did, that I am not God, I don’t know the end of my story, or that of my aging parents, but I need to, and can, fully trust that God’s heart for all of us is good. I’m so grateful for how the author deals with real issues, especially in the dysfunction in families, Thanks for your themes of hope, courage and redemption!

I’ve loved this whole series, starting with Out of Canaan. Thank you for bringing the people in scripture to life AND for the reminder of how God is still at work in our lives, often using unusual and unexpected people and situations, even today.
