Historia
The debut psychological thriller that will forever change the way you look at other people's lives. Every day the same. Rachel takes the same commuter train every morning and night. Every day she rattles down the track, flashes past a stretch of cozy suburban homes, and stops at the signal that allows her to daily watch the same couple breakfasting on their deck. She’s even started to feel like she knows them. Jess and Jason, she calls them. Their life - as she sees it - is perfect. Not unlike the life she recently lost.

good suspense and character development
Revisado: 01-31-16
The thread of seeing events through the eyes of a casual observer on the train was an interesting one and the character development was good. It was suspenseful to the end.

too farfetched
Revisado: 08-29-14
good story-line until Elisa became fatally stupid with house burning, involvement of bread truck mafia, etc... this is first tape of many that were so ridiculous that I had to stop listening .....Joanna, Elisa should have jumped into the same hole as the mentally challenged 60 yr old.... and who casts a heavily NJ accent into the role of an authority in a Western town??

not typical formulaic suspense/romance story!
Revisado: 03-23-11
this is the second novel i have read by Tana French and have been impressed by unforeseen twists in the plot--- usually, the intertwined mystery/romance/plot are highly predictable and the characters are very stereotyped---- love her books with their twists in plot and character development!!.....

Historia
When a chorus girl is found dead on a Broadway stage dressed in the leading lady's costume, there are no signs of violence, no cuts, no bruises, no marks at all. If pressed, the coroner would call it a suicide, but then that would make her the second girl to turn up dead in such a manner in the last few weeks. And the news of a possible serial killer would be potentially disastrous to the burgeoning theater world, not to mention the citizens of New York.

WONDERFUL!
Revisado: 07-03-10
the story was well woven and non-formulaic for most mystery/thrillers and pulled in the flavor of New York at the turn of the century along with some of the theater culture of that time... really enjoyed it!
