The first story is ok. It's about a woman who is unhappily married and gets a hot encounter with her savior, the hotel's female lifeguard.

There is a bonus story of one of the author's Stepbrother romances and it is clearly stated in the audio 'Bonus content' before the title and actual story begins. That story has more surprise moments and humor to it.

Overall, about 3.5 stars.

Fun premise - classic story lines turned into...

This was an entertaining storyline - 18 year old, college bound, is a virgin and accidentally buys an erotica story under the guise of a classic literature school assignment.

She gets turned on by it and continues her exploration into the literary world of classic tales written with erotic twists. The local librarian sees her constant beeline for the Romance section and invites her to her daughter's college book club meeting, to give the shy girl a more social outing for her love of books (hee, hee).

I loved the imagination used for all the titles she found, though I think it's unrealistic that an 18 year old is lamenting that she's turning into an 'old maid' not having lost her virginity yet. But then again, I don't know what pressures young folks are putting on themselves when entering college as virgins - maybe they truly feel that way?

Overall, a fun story on the discovery of self through erotic literature :-)

Entertaining story; narration great in hot spots

What did you love best about The Two and the Proud?

That this was a story where the couple didn't beat around the 'bush' so to speak :-) - they got right to the sex. My kind of story!

What did you like best about this story?

Like I said - I liked that the story got right down to business and didn't drag out with a lot of character history. Kim and Rowdy were a hot, sexy twosome! And I liked the introduction of an NCIS character.

Have you listened to any of Christine Padovan’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

This wasn't the narrator's best performance - the beginning of the story had some rushed words and some flat tones, but Ms. Padovan then got it right with the sex scenes after the couple's meeting in the hotel's bar.

Wish all of Ms. Long's stories were as hot as this one!

A bit 'ho hum' - not really erotica

I enjoy the author's writing - she fleshes out characters very well for a short story format. This one was a little boring though - very little sex (he's a psychologist, so he's very stoic too) and more on their dinner together, then helping one of his patients who went out with his friends and had a panic attack.

Yes, they do have their One Night Stand together and do end up staying together as a couple 'falling in love' but I didn't see this as a true erotica story. Must have been put in the wrong category by accident. It's a sweet enough tale - more of a Chick Lit type of story though.

If new audio, then very good stuff

If from reading the prior reviews about the first 2 minutes being extremely bad, then this must be the new audio version because it sounded great to me. The narrator wasn't rushing through the opening lines as someone previously said, and I could listen and follow along without a problem.

I still have a hard time believing that Elisabeth could be so easily trained from being a swearing brat to a loving, demure submissive though. But the story was interesting and entertaining throughout - not being from the New York City area, I would have preferred less swearing, but I guess that's how the author sees her characters being.

And if you enjoy happy endings, this story is for you :-)
