Not the best in the series

Not crazy about the plotting. A lot of the dialogue was very repetitive and stilted. Not my favorite in the series!

Historia
When an elderly, world-famous magician is found dead in his Cherringham mansion, there is nothing suspicious about the passing. According to the doctor, it was a heart attack - plain and simple. But the performer's long-time assistant suspects something sinister and she asks Jack and Sarah to investigate. And like the great magician's amazing tricks, it soon becomes clear that his death is anything but simple: in the world of magic, nothing is ever what it seems, and sometimes even illusions can turn deadly.

Another great addition to the Jack Taylor Series
Revisado: 03-05-25
I just love Ken Bruen’s Irish sense of humor. Interesting cast of characters. Not one single story, more of a set of vignettes. Although short in length, a very good “read”!

Historia
My name is Mercy Thompson Hauptman, and my mate, Adam, is the werewolf who leads the Columbia Basin Pack, the pack charged with keeping the people who live and work in the Tri-Cities of Washington State safe. It’s a hard job, and it doesn’t leave much room for side quests. Which is why when I needed to travel to Montana to help my brother, I intended to go by myself.

Not my favorite in the series, but I Liked it quite a bit. I was a bit lost in the middle, but everything came together at the end. It reminded me just a little of “River Marked”.

A very good addition to the series
Revisado: 06-17-24
Not as Stone Barrington centric as most in the series, but the re-introduction of a previous character was great. This particular character is very clever. Lots of suspense with a good ending.
Although most like the narrator, I find his voice distracting. I feel like I’m listening to Humphrey Bogart’s Sam Spade. Jmo.
