putting the OP in Space Opera

like always, Marc Thompson knocks the energy out of the park, reminding me how youthful my literary taste has become. Want to feel like a 14 year old boy? Thompson's incredible melodrama keeps you barely emotionally engaging minute to minute.
admittedly, I do think he's an incredible voice actor with a range that is hard not to swoon over. amazing talent.

familiar faces, same problems

not sure I actually like the story, or if I just enjoy seeing characters I know.
story no longer feels like a D&D campaign, but now feels like retconed emotional stakes are slammed on characters, like bull hormones in a soon-to-be-star football player in high school. still feels like a soap opera, which cheapens the star wars experience for me.

it is a simple love story, filled with every cliche, and enough star wars to fill the gaps. normally I wouldn't recommend this kind of book, but the two lovers captured my 30 year old heart.
