Can Richter forge allegiances to survive this harsh and unforgiving world or will he fall to the dark denizens of this ancient and unforgiving realm? Absolutely One Of the Best!!!
Revisado: 03-30-18
There is simply no way to describe the incredible pleasure that is this book! The best way I can describe it is as an experience. This is, by far, the best LitRpg series I have ever read. Once I started with book 1, I could not stop and the only thing that stopped me was the ending of book 6. That only happened because I am eagerly awaiting Book 7. The land is a place of magic, mystery, fantasy, the unexpected and just plain fun! Through both the author and the narrator, the adventures come alive and transport the reader to a place most of us can only access in our dreams. I shall stop here because I want to leave some praise for Book 2. This is a series for lovers of LitRPG and the best way to introduce others to the genre.

The Ouija board continues to be a popular means of entertainment for a wide variety of people: paranormal thrill-seekers, adventurous adolescents, temperamental teens, tipsy party guests, and even curious skeptics. Most of the time, those who dabble with the Ouija experience nothing out of the ordinary. But many times that's not the case. And many times that extraordinary experience isn't just strange, but downright awful.

Not The Best But Would Recommend
Revisado: 09-04-16
This book is filled with factual and useful information. Each example consists of a few paragraphs which are very comprehensive and leave no time for a person to lose interest. These examples are divided into chapters which grow in intensity as the book progresses. Remember, the entire book is just about 2 hours in length and the author does a good job of only using one chapter for introduction and the rest for actual stories and experiences of people using the boards and their results. It is not written with the same attention to detail as The Demonologist; it is more of a collection of short stories. I have only two complaints regarding the listening experience. First, the author seemed to end almost each story with some version of “they will never do it again.” That was tiresome after about the first ten stories. The second is the narrator. I dislike criticizing voiceover artists because I know, from experience; it is not an easy job. This guy just sounded rather plastic. That being said, the information in the book is well-researched, knowledgeable, and is something many teenagers, not to mention adults, would do well to read.

Not For Me But Perhaps For You
Revisado: 10-11-15
Every October I try to fill the month with scary stories to go along with the Halloween theme. After listening to this one I was sort of let down and at the end, felt like looking around and saying “seriously?
The one thing I can say is, while there were some rather spooky incidents in this story, it really wasn’t high on my October list. The woman struck me as a selfish, narcissistic, ehem. She seemed to have all the family support, all the friends, and didn’t really care that her partner was suffering as well. It could have easily been argued that she was to blame for the whole thing and she showed her true colors in the end. Shame on her! Also, if you are looking for high-quality narration, keep looking. I believe this guy felt he was making the story more interesting with a bit of background noise to differentiate between characters but he does make several mistakes while reading the story and has to go back to correct himself. Overall, I was left feeling sorry for the guy, wanting to smack the self-centered girl, and wondered about the rest of the story that was not part of this book. Having said all of this, if you scare easily or just want something we could call, “scary-lite”, this is your book.

Don't Read This One First!
Revisado: 10-31-14
If you've not read any of the other books in the series, stop! don't read this first! It can spoil parts of the series for someone who doesn't know what is coming. This is a nice, sort of cute, and very short treat for Halloween and I enjoyed it much better than the last actual book in the series. It is set 3 years before Georgie becomes Her Royal Spyness and just at the end of her season. There is a very satisfying scene at the beginning when Georgie's sister-in-law, Fig, gets extremely annoyed because Georgie seems to have more of a social life than she and her husband. I always love it when Georgie manages to annoy her. If you are looking for an actual mystery that Georgie solves, this novella is not for you. It is only just over an hour and has very little character or plot development. To be fair there is not much time for much to happen. Katherine Kellgren, one of my favorite narrators, does what she can with the characters she's given. It is a shame it isn't longer but it may do the trick if a very very short story is enough to hold you over until the next installment in the series.

What Really Happens Behind Closed Doors?
Revisado: 04-21-14
This book has the potential to be so much more! It actually, reads more like a short story and can appear unrealistic because it takes place over a few months but moves fairly quickly. In the beginning of this book, the main character seems a bit shallow. Please don't let that fool you. If you feel discouraged or lose interest, try to stick with it. It is a book that will cause the reader to take a look at things many of us take for granted and, hopefully, will help us understand why we may want to remember things are not always the way they appear on the surface. I'll just say that it is a good reminder that families are rarely as straight forward as they may seem from the outside. No one really knows what goes on behind closed doors. It is a good book for both young adults and older readers. If you are looking for steamy romance, you'll not find it here. Nor will you find a fast-paced action-packed story. There were times when I could have cheerfully shaken the main character and asked her what time it was when she stopped having good sense but, for the most part it is a book I'd recommend.

Don't Miss This One!
Revisado: 11-12-13
Well, she has done it again! This author is a master of weaving the complex threads of each member of a family’s life into a story that will not just reach out and touch the reader but more like grab the reader with both hands. This book was offered as a Daily Deal and is another that would probably not have come to my attention had it not been offered, thereby, forcing me to take notice. I can tell you that the story is composed of a lot of selfish people who each believes that he or she is the most important person on the planet until they are forced to acknowledge that they are all just parts of a whole. Jodi Picoult has the ability to take modern, currently, controversial topics and turn them into a story that will hold the reader’s attention from start to finish. There were certainly times when I wanted to slap almost every character in the book but even that did not take away from the story. I say “almost” because my favorite character by far is, without a doubt, Judge, the service dog. What does a family do when they have to decide which of the children should live and how much is too much? Is one child more important than another? Are parents really capable of treating all of their children equally or are they just human? These, and many more are all questions you’ll find yourself asking while reading this book. Try to remember it is alright to get angry and to take sides but, whatever you do, don’t give up on the book. It is well worth it! In fact, were I in a book club this would be a perfect selection! I love the Daily Deals!

Historia
With indifferent parents, Iona Sheehan grew up craving devotion and acceptance. From her maternal grandmother, she learned where to find both: a land of lush forests, dazzling lakes, and centuries-old legends. Ireland. County Mayo, to be exact. Where her ancestors’ blood and magic have flowed through generations - and where her destiny awaits. Iona arrives in Ireland with nothing but her Nan’s directions, an unfailingly optimistic attitude, and an innate talent with horses.

Another Great Nora Roberts Trilogy!
Revisado: 11-08-13
This book has the potential for another wonderful Nora Roberts trilogy. The story is set in Ireland, a favorite setting for the author, and is obviously written with a great deal of attention to detail on her part. I had one of the songs they’d sung in the pub stuck in my head all day. She Starts the story with a quick flash back which is in no way tiresome as some flash backs can be. When a cousin goes to Ireland to learn about her past she gets more than she was expecting. At first I didn’t like the main character but, somehow, I found myself on her side halfway through the book. It is clear that this is another romance where she has pretty much set up the couples at the beginning of the book. By the title you can probably tell there is a great deal of magic running throughout the entire book. It is very accurate and well done. If you like Nora Roberts and her ability to create a story about magic, and spice it up with just the right amount of romance, you’ll love this book. I’ve only just finished today and I am anxiously awaiting the next one which I believe should be released in May of 2014. I believe it is called Shadow Spell. The only thing that takes away from the listening experience is that the narrator makes everyone with an Irish accent sound like they are about 90-years-old and having a hard time breathing, but, she is still pretty good. It really is a great book!

An Ordinary romance
Revisado: 10-28-13
Well, well, well. That is all I really have to say about this first book in the Dark Sword series. There is really nothing remarkable about this particular highland romance. It is a basic story with a touch of the paranormal but, other than that, it is a very basic romance. This has the making of a good series but, if you look at it, the story has been told many times over. Three brothers, who are very close, share an adventure and are obviously going to find love one by one as will their friends. There were almost no surprises and a great deal of syrupy sweet romantic moments between the main characters. The medieval highland theme provides a wonderful setting for romance but if you are looking for something with more depth you will probably be disappointed. For a trilogy with humor, lots of unexpected twists and turns, and still full of romance, you may want to take a look at the McCabe trilogy by Maya Banks. All three books are worth the credits or the cash price!

Unbelieveable! Incredible! Great Book!
Revisado: 10-19-13
Thank goodness for Daily Deals. This is one book I’d probably have never found had it not been featured one day. This book is riveting to say the least. There is really no other word to describe it. There are times when I found myself thinking, “You are not that stupid! Really, you just cannot be that stupid! Are you?” Even with these moments, Defending Jacob is an excellent read and listen. The narrator is awesome. He knows how to bring the listener into the story without over doing it. If you enjoy legal thrillers that will keep tossing things at you that you never see coming, you really need to read this book. There is little I can say without spoiling the story, however, prepare yourself for a great deal of, what the…” and “are you serious…?” moments. I am pretty good at figuring out the endings of books, a quality I do not necessarily enjoy but one that comes from reading a lot of books, but not this one. I was completely blown away by the ending. Don’t misunderstand me. You will have a couple of moments where you just want to skip to the end but don’t do it. You need to catch all of it. Anyway those moments are few and far between. All I can really say is keep track of the Daily Deals and read this book!

A Perfect Ending To A Wonderful Trilogy
Revisado: 10-17-13
It is difficult to say which is my favorite between books 2 and 3. This book, as expected, explains much about what happened so long ago. There is very little down time in book 3 and a great deal of surprises. The Harper bride is stronger than ever in this novel and even the publisher’s summary doesn’t come close to describing how much she forces herself into the lives of all the characters. The way the truth is revealed and the path they take to find it is worth both the time and investment. Again, if possible, try to read these books in order. It only adds to the experience and makes the truth so much more satisfying. This is a wonderful series and I can’t recommend it enough!
