Historia
Even through the roar and effervescence of the 1920s, everyone in New York has heard of Benjamin and Helen Rask. He is a legendary Wall Street tycoon; she is the daughter of eccentric aristocrats. Together, they have risen to the very top of a world of seemingly endless wealth—all as a decade of excess and speculation draws to an end. But at what cost have they acquired their immense fortune? This is the mystery at the center of Bonds, a successful 1937 novel that all of New York seems to have read. Yet there are other versions of this tale of privilege and deceit.

I should have known whenever I get attracted to book based upon accolades watch out. i have two reviews to write for this book. one for the book itself which I kept listening to you hoping that the story would go somewhere and it wasn't just a collection of talesi that didn't really have any cohesion.. but finally gave up...
and thought at least I can return it for a credit at audible but I was fooled twice once by this very boring very third party droll tale that went nowhere and the second time by audible who said I couldn't return it even though I paid full price or full credit boo for you pulitzer and you audible...

Historia
Ryland Grace is the sole survivor on a desperate, last-chance mission - and if he fails, humanity and the Earth itself will perish. Except that right now, he doesn't know that. He can't even remember his own name, let alone the nature of his assignment or how to complete it. All he knows is that he's been asleep for a very, very long time. And he's just been awakened to find himself millions of miles from home, with nothing but two corpses for company.

Historia
Between 2017 and 2021, the US military admitted to having undeniable evidence that UFOs (now UAVs or UAPs) are here and defy the laws of physics. When Jason Ramsey, a popular science-fiction writer, becomes obsessed with the subject, he undertakes a relentless quest to uncover what is really going on. After recruiting Tessa Barrett, an extraordinarily talented mercenary, Jason devises a risky, desperate plan to get to the bottom of it all. But the truth is far more shocking, convoluted, and dangerous than anyone could have guessed, and he has no idea who he can trust.

Historia
The Tragedy of American Science explores how the US economy’s addiction to military spending distorts and deforms science by making it overwhelmingly subservient to military interests. The primary motive driving American science and technology has become the search for new and more efficient ways to kill people. This transforms science from the classic ideal of a creative force for the advancement of humankind into its destructive and antihuman opposite.

you can't handle the truth
Revisado: 08-03-20
I don't write reviews but I feel this subject is one of critical importance and that we as a country need to pay attention. we are already well behind other countries in real research and technology..the current handling of the pandemic is a US disaster and has made this painfully apparent. this is a well written, well spoken overview on how our capitalistic quest for money and power have overriden our quest for the truth. I also worked in the engineering defense industry mil complex off and on for 30 years and watched the steady decline of scientific research turn to pure advocacy and quest to just make money at any cost. if you want to find the truth...you have to truly search for it.
