Historia
Calling all Warriors and Wings of Fire fans I am Crystalstar or Shell and this is the Warriors and Wings of Fire Podcast! In this podcast I will be talking about Warriors and Wings of Fire. I am a very very very big fan of Warriors and Wings of Fire, but I have read Warriors first, but even though I read Warriors first I love Wings of Fire just as much as Warriors. I will try to record at least one episode each weekend, but sometimes I won’t have time or I’m out of town, but I won’t not post for more than 2 weeks without warning. So, I hope you like my episodes. This classic tale of a remarkable, unaffected five-year-old orphan will charm you, just as Heidi charms her fierce, hermit grandfather when she comes to live with him in the Swiss Alps.

Historia
Melissa North had assumed that after eight years of not setting eyes on each other, her youthful attraction to - or an infatuation with - Julian Delamere, once Viscount Dagenham and now earl of Carsely, would have faded to nothing and gasped its last. Unfortunately, during the intervening years, she has failed to find any suitable suitor who measures up to her mark, and she is resigned to ending her days an old maid. Then she sees Julian across a crowded ballroom, and he sees her, and the intensity of their connection shocks her.

deviation from the Christmas Chronicles
Revisado: 12-26-22
Although this book is connected to the Lady Osbaldestone Christmas series as far as some of the characters, it feels completely different. it lacks the charm of the quaint English village, the sweet family relationships that characterized those books, and the sweet innocence that kept me listening. u like the Christmas Chronicles, this book was NOT something I could listen to aloud with my family (very thankful I didn't attempt it). even without comparing it to those books, I found the characters lacking and the plot weak. Overall, very disappointing.

Historia
Termed the Uncle Tom's Cabin of the southwestern Indians and the first protest novel of California, Ramona is the story of 3 cultures - Indian, Mexican, and Anglo - locked in combat. The upheaval and injustice are humanized through the romance of a beautiful half-Indian orphan who grow up as the ward of Señora Moreno in privileged surroundings, then falls in love with an Indian and joins him in a life of poverty and tragedy. The Ramona Pageant in Hemet, California, based on this romance, has played each year since 1923, reenacting the transition period between Mexican traditions and the new U.S. and state governments.

not unabridged

I was going back and forth between this audiobook and reading myself, and was confused when I read things I didn't remember hearing, so I finally put it on as I read and realized this audio version is definitely abridged, contrary to what it says. very disappointing.

Historia
Elisabeth Elliot was a young missionary in Ecuador when members of a violent Amazonian tribe savagely speared her husband, Jim, and his four colleagues. Incredibly, prayerfully, Elisabeth took her toddler daughter, snakebite kit, Bible, and journal...and lived in the jungle with the stone-age people who killed her husband. In this authorized biography, Ellen Vaughn uses Elisabeth’s private, unpublished journals, and candid interviews with her family and friends, to paint the adventures and misadventures God used to shape one of the most influential women in modern church history.

Historia
Emma, by Jane Austen, is a novel about the perils of misconstrued romance. The novel was first published in December 1815. As in her other novels, Austen explores the concerns and difficulties of genteel women living in Georgian-Regency England; she also creates a lively 'comedy of manners' among her characters.

probably better out there

Hard to listen to Jane Austen in an American accent, and I wish someone had corrected the narrator in her pronunciation of pianoforte. Apart from that, and enjoyable rendering of my least favorite of Austen's novels.
