Slow start, finish strong

I feel the first 4 chapters could have been cut from this story, too mundane, and a chore to get thru. But chapter 5 is where we finally find the plot and the story takes off. I couldn’t put it down after that. Perfect balance of action and imagery with all the details in all the right places. The ending is not what I was expecting, and not what I would have hoped for for these characters. But good none the less.

Funny, relatable, juicy

What more can I say? P and Venus’s exchanges are funny, P her self is relatable in her embarrassment and awkwardness, I even love the part where Vulcan is about to set the room on fire and is too oblivious to notice P’s reaction to the fire. Typical men. And the love scenes are juicy and enthralling!

Slow plot line

Maybe if this was the first goddess series I listened to, I would have thought better. But after goddess of the sea and goddess of love, this book is boring in comparison. Caitlyn Davies is an awesome narrator, I love all her different voices. After listening to goddess of love I wanted to get all the goddess summoning series. But after this book, I’m disappointed, and concerned the other books may put me to sleep as much as this one.

I was worried that watching the tv show first was going to make the book boring and repetitive.
I was wrong, the tv show might have been a 15 page cliff notes.
